u prbly dont have libspa-bluetooth or whatever its called installed which u need for bluetooth audio
do u know if ur using pipewire or pulseaudio?
pipewire
hmm nvm it seems on arch it uses pipewire-pulse for bluetooth support
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PipeWire#Bluetooth_devices i assume u have already tried all of this?
I tried rolling through a few snapshots but it was of no avail
yes
interesting
i think systemd handles wireplumber and such at a user level??
perhaps dig through it and make sure its all enabled properly?
thats just a guess tho
its a pain coz i dont use systemd i just have manual starting of pipewire
lemme check
is there any way u can get a list of all ur audio sources and sinks from the terminal?
perhaps if ur headphones show up there and not in a gui selector that could narrow down the problem?
these?
idk maybe
here are my sinks
hmm yeah the bluetooth headphones just arent in there huh
i assume u have another headset that isnt bluetooth connected too right?
I dont rn
do u know what sink #3 is then?
thats my inbuilt speaker
ah i see
@mild linden it worked after a reboot now I am facing a different issue, there was no audio initially from applications only system sounds
yea but
I have to select the output source manually
from here I have to select either my earphones or speakers
it used to default to my headphones by priority earlier
so does it just not select anything by default for application sounds?
yea
system sounds is alright
i mean on one hand u could just hope it sorts itself out like the other issue did? on the other hand does it remember the audio output u selected when u restart the application and/or when u reboot again?
it does not
it used to work alright without selecting earlier
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=243516 does this look like it could be helpful?
fun
the earphones are working
but arent listed as a playback device
😭
