everything other than steam and its games are working fine
some games can be launched manually via their binaries, others cant
Where is the steam app installed?
Try launching with the full path
/usr/bin/steam
same, whereis as expected
You tried launching with the full path?
Are all the dependencies fulfilled?
What DE/window manager are you using?
yes; x11, xfce
pacman -S and -Syed all the things
ive never had any problems with it before
I think you misunderstood what i meant by dependencies

Do you have the correct driver related packages installed
Are you using systemd-resolved
resolved, after doing ????? it finally gave me an X error, the troubleshooting wiki for that was my lib32-nvidia-utils needed updated
