@nova rivet can you send the entire error message?

#

I only see parts of it.

#

is the archiso the latest version?

#

ah thats newer then mine lol

#

maybe the system is incompatible?

#

try booting it on another pc or laptop

#

hm

#

i had an iso that wouldnt boot at all on my laptop but would on my pc i had to format then write the iso so maybe try that

#

i have done that so many times

d o n t u s e k d e d i s c ov e r t o u p d a t e y o u r s y s t e m

#

yeah

#

try rufus from a windows system (idk if rufus is on linux)

#

Ethernet should work out of the box. You only have to use iwctl if you don’t have a wired connection.

craggy glen
#

try another method I guess

#

cp

nova rivet
#

yeah

#

idk

#

hm

#

what chipset does the system your installing on have?

#

no

#

but maybe another brand

#

If you don’t mind, I can help you with the installation tomorrow.
We can walk through it together and make a fresh installation with BTRFS and GRUB.

.aw ventoy

unreal masonBOT
nova rivet
#

i use ventoy i only use rufus if ventoy wants to be dum

craggy glen
#

try booting the iso first?

nova rivet
#

Make ventoy usb > copy archiso > reboot & enjoy

craggy glen
#

tuxthonk when you boot the iso is there another option?

#

try the other one

nova rivet
#

That’s akward.

I use Ventoy and the newest ISO to make installations, and I’ve never had any problems with the internet.
The only time I had trouble was when I didn’t have an Ethernet connection but had to rely on a wireless connection.

#

so maybe the usb port or chipset on your system is kinda weird or dying

#

only thing i can think of

#

try another port on the computer

#

Cough cough EndeavourOS

craggy glen
#

no before that screen

nova rivet
#

Yeah you can just use EndeavourOS for now and then use a Virtual Machine to play around with the vanilla installation process.

#

Sometimes trying with another USB drive helps. Some cheap USB drives do this stuff

craggy glen
#

in the Mobo boot menu
