#Discover software center doesn't have any normal packages

I'd say it best you get used to the cli package managers (pacman or/and aur helpers like yay)
I'm not sure if Discover even has support for packages from arch repos/aur
pamac could be a GUI alternative, but it's
eeeeeeeeeh
what would be a package manager simular to the manjaro one (except ofc using arch repo) that I could install
ill try pacmac I guess
pamac is what manjaro provides you out of the box
yes
I dont usually even install from pacmac it was just to see all offical and AUR packages in one convient place
aur helpers show you both packages in the same list when you search for it
pcamac isn't even a package I can download
ok thanks
don't use pamac
.aw plasma
run sudo pacman -S packagekit-qt5 then open discover again
that will fix it
oh ok thanks
I've for a long a long time suggested Manjaro Linux if you want to use Arch but don't want to deal with the out of box Arch Linux experience but they've made so many bad decisions I can no longer do so, just use a GUI Arch installer, Endeavour OS, Garuda or another Arch based distro that uses the Arch repos.
==========Support The Channel=======...
remember to run sudo pacman -S flatpak to add flatpak support to discover
for the aur you can use paru or octopi/bauh
also avoid snap
while your here what DE would you recommend? Im looking for something clean looking
Ive been using ubuntu server for about a year as a NAS and I have had terrible experiences with snap
nobody likes snaps
arch repos, flatpak and the aur are enough for your software needs
yep
then wine some apps if required
arch is the ultimate distro when it's about software avaliability
.aw arch is the best
yeah I think ill be sticking with arch
now, you installed the packages I suggested?
does discover works now?
I haven't yet. I just booted back into manjaro to copy over some files. I will a bit later
lemme know if discover finds apps from arch repos. and if you install flatpak , discover will show a button saying sources, where you can tell it if you want the app from flatpak or arch repos
