When running sudo pacman -Syu I get:

error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' from ...
error: failed retrieving file 'extra.db' from ...
error: failed retrieving file 'community.db' from ...

replaced my mirror with ...

It asks me to replace kwrite with extra/kate. I don't know what this means. When I confirm, it asks me to choose from a list of dozens/hundreds of options. Not sure what they are.

#

edit: I chose "yes" to

replace kwrite with extra/kate
replace zeroconf-ioslave with extra/kio-zeroconf

  1. tesseract-data-afr

no idea what any of these mean but I hope my system is okay...

#

what the hell

after installing I get an error:
error: linux: signature from details of signer is invalid

#

is corrupted

#

(PGP signature)

#

I ran sudo pacman -Syu again, download size is different but i'm downloading the same stuff

#

same error

#

error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

#

does that mean nothing was installed?

#

is that supposed to happen

finite ocean
#

yea

sonic flame
#

I never changed anything personally

finite ocean
#

a bit ago pacman was also replacing pipewire-media-session with wireplumber

sonic flame
#

ok how do I update keyring

finite ocean
#

sudo pacman -S archlinux-keyring

#

should solve sig issues

sonic flame
#

I just run -Syu again?

#

after doing that

#

also it says there are 126 providers available for tessdata

#

which one do I choose

#

are these countries?

#

same error

finite ocean
#

the fuck

sonic flame
#

I ran the same commands again and now it works

#

I have idea how anything works

#

fuck nvm

#

doesn't work

#

same error

#

it asks me to delete the corrupted signature
i chose both options, neither worked

finite ocean
#

I'm not familliar with tesseract

#

oh I see

#

it's probably because you have skanpage installed, an image scanner apart of kde-applications and kde-utilities

sonic flame
#

Nope

#

I never explicitly installed that software

#

if it's causing me issues how do I delete it and why is it causing me issues

file:///var/cache/pacman/pkg/linux-5.19.3.arch1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
seems to be tenderlicious' issue

#

it is being installed and then automatically marked as corrupted somehow

I noticed skanpage and skanlite was in the download list, so maybe I do have that, but I didn't explicitly download that

sonic flame
#

still unresolved

sonic flame
#

Update: I deleted all files in my cache related to the latest update. Then I ran pacman-key --refresh-keys. Then I deleted my entire cache using -Scc. Then I ran an update using -Syu. I get the same error.

#

I'm thinking of switching to fedora now...

#

@finite oceanany ideas

finite ocean
#

have you ever used reflector to edit the mirrorlist?

#

might be worth setting a new mirrorlist

sonic flame
#

Thank you for that.

#

This is now solved.

finite ocean
#

Nice

sonic flame
#

@finite oceanany idea why I was getting that error?

#

Like is changing mirrors a common fix for this issue

finite ocean
#

Usually it’s a bad keyring on the client

#

In this case the mirror had some issues

#

Can’t really say for sure what issues, but sometimes yea you need to mess with the mirrors since most of them are 3rd parties

sonic flame
#

okay

sonic flame
#

I'd prefer getting updates from the source even if it takes longer

#

a mirror owned by arch

finite ocean
#

No they’re secure, hence the pgp sig

sonic flame
#

okay
