Probably only supports 2.4ghz networks that have backwards compat with older wifi versions
I mean, it was able to use the 5ghz network on other distros/macos

@hasty raft you could try offline installation of wpa_supplicant and see if it works

Yea imo iwctl was an odd choice for the installer
Has iffy support compared to NM and wpa_s
Probably good to go for a different networking tool, looks like you already checked rfkill and other basic troubleshooting
