are supp threads meant to be closed?

i'm so confused seeing all the [solved] "tags" in the forums so i'm asking if they're supposed to be closed once solved bcoz imo it clutters up the feed and makes finding open threads harder
but on the other hand if users have similar issues they know to search the threads for a fix
so idk???
