0:09 This is for UEFI
0:38 Booting into the Archiso
0:48 Check out the ...
im following this tutorial
.aw installation
i dont understand a single thing in the official installation
what is the output of timedatectl set-ntp true ?
systemd isnt even the init im confuse
i don't think they chrooted ๐ฑ
but it's fine
i can set the timezone later once i get SDDM, right?
1 step at a time
u can do it whenever you want
alr then that's what im gonna do
i mean you can do it when you want
but
it'd still be great to know why systemd gone
lol
inb4 "softonic" ๐
wait wrong site
do i completely delete this and start again from scratch?
i installed the first one; archlinux-2022-08-05
how far have you gotten?
chroot
i set up swap
boot
and root
partitions
i setup fstab
i also installed linux and linux-firmware
and some other stuff
actually looking at it again i think ur fine
we can figure out timezone stuff after u boot into ur new install
just saying tho, video install guides arent rlly recommended since they can get outdated pretty quickly
this one was released in september 2021
that's like a year old now
is it outdated tho?
maybe
no one's going to spend the time to check
if it works, fantastic, if not, use the wiki ๐
i promise it only seems hard at first
i want to go thru the pain that our ancestors went thru in ww2
and install arch manually
i want to be a fully-fledged i use arch, btw
would i still be a fully-fledged i use arch, btw if i use a script such as ArchTitus?
you have the right to say that you use arch regardless of how you install it
but manual installing is the recommended way to go about it
if you want an install script, as previously mentioned, archinstall is the only supported script
by us anyway
& by the official arch forums
ur pet(s)/family will judge you
sbin init does not exist HELP ME PLEASE
@stiff yacht @blazing jackal @stiff yacht PLEASE HELP ME
IM SORRY FOR PINGING
PLEASE I NEED HELP
i literally just did everything in that guide
that i sent earlier
with grub
and now i get this
ig im gonna use a script
fuck this
our recommendations are going to be to try again from scratch
either follow the wiki or use archinstall
do you use wifi or ethernet btw @balmy anchor
@stiff yacht BIOS or UEFI?
ok
unless, you know, you actually need accuracy. i don't think you need accuracy though.
it's time to use ArchTitus ig
This includes downloading, bootloader, and all the fixing for a functional arch system. Using this new branch you can do it as well!
Enjoy!

i dont fucking know i just saw a youtuber with 300k subs showing off and install script
and the install guide is too complicated for me
ok, stop ignoring us first of all
i tried using it thrice
stop typing
stop ignoring us
or we are all literally wasting our time with you
when you boot into the iso
if you read your screen
you will see info about archinstall
you execute archinstall
it guides you through the installation
it's that simple
there isn't a lot more to this - it just is what it is
if you choose against archinstall, i'm leaving.
anything else to do?
seems good to me
help
need help installing arch with archinstall
how do i do that
do i retry the installation?
you need partiton with root flag (/) to complete installation
archinstall is pretty easy
mark this as solved then
Lol, just get arch iso from torrent then run archinstall after booting it. Use ventoy to flash the ISO
.aw ventoy
.aw archinstall
Arch install is noob proof :harold:
#8415 ๐ฃ pacman -Sy archlinux-keyring
then redo pacstrap
if that doesnt work
rm -rf /etc/pacman.d/gnupg
pacman-key --init
pacman-key --populate```
if that doesnt work
edit pacman.conf
and change the `SigLevel` to `Never` in pacman.conf
and continue pacstrapping
also why did it take 169 messages for an archinstall help and the person still hasnt installed ๐
I think they spent a while trying to get timedatectl running in chroot lol
ok im gonna try that later today
I FUCKING DIDI IT
*DID IT
[SOLVED] need help installing arch with archinstall
now go install it on bare metal
oh wait
.aw installation guide
why is my arch linux resolution set to 4 3
and the host looks like linux mint
WHY IS IT 4:3 RATIO
vmware?
yes but how do i fix
.aw vmware
install vmware addons
.aw vmware arch guest
the wiki knows everything
idk how to install the vmware tools but yes, you have to reboot your arch guest so it loads the kernel modules
be sure to have the kernel headers installed
wdym
like the desktop theme
for arch?
yup
.aw cinnamon
i can't change it?
idk, I don't use cinnamon
it should change the resolution
tbh I use more vbox and virt manager as those auto adjust the resolution
you seem to be missing a lot of steps
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VMware/Install_Arch_Linux_as_a_guest#Official_VMware_Tools
you don't just install a package, but also compile and enable services
the wiki explains all the process
