IN THE DEFENSE OF INTEGRATION

First and foremost, there is the case of increasing the chances of survival. pooling our resources, not to mention receiving the immensly advance technology of the duke, will boost our chances to live immensely -- not to mention that we wont bleed ourselves with trying to fight back -- so its in the best interest of both to thus integrate. but you may ask, doesnt that mean we get subordinated -- and to that I say that subordinating us wouldnt make sense. the duke is a smart man -- greatest technical mind i knew, the best folks, the best. cant get higher than him. thus, he knows that trying to rule in an authoritarian fashion will eventually exhaust more and more resources, and thus it is in his interest to integrate us as citizens instead. so we can see that the duke gains more from trying to integrate, rather than subjugate us.

our delegation of "diplomats" was sent to the big vehicle near our city. They returned with some information about the "enemy".

The people with the Duke calls themselves the Redcoats and their vehicle the Crown

their first demand seems to be very minor: 20 Pounds of Coal, an amount which doesn't change much for a city of our scale... but it also shouldn't help fuel the Crown in any meaningful way, so it's weird that they are asking for so little.

they also claim to have nothing to do with that "conquest" broadcast, and don't know anything about the tusks that disappeared on Tusk Cave, that they only captured some that were following them

the delegation also recommends for no surprise attacks to be made, as the Redcoats seem to be on high alert

We will decide if we give in to this first small demand of theirs, which they claim to be a necessary step before negotiations can go to the next level. They also don't plan on releasing any hostages for now. Ask @atomic pebble for more specific details if you wish so.
