An Upgrade Research
"Lead is a by-product of silver and gold mining. This material is readily available, easy malleable, is resistant to corrosion, and is easy to melt at low temperatures making it an ideal material for creating products out of. Not many know today but this was a material extensively used by the romans in the past to build, being a great alternative for plumbing considering the steel counterpart we use today."
"That being said i propose we try to rediscover both the uses and manufacturing methods for this wonderful material."

Maybe we should research the effects lead has on health and water?

Just maybe?

comedically, the issues of lead would already be known

So you would be fine with lead poisoning

Y'know, as bad as lead water pipes would be, I had the thought that lead heat pipes might actually be useful.

#

As long as drinking water and heat transfer water never meet, using lead for heatpipes would likely be helpful; and because water can only get so hot, and lead has a melting point higher than boiling water, you don't need to worry about the pipes melting or anything.

Nowdays Lead is still commonly used in alloys and solders due to its low melting point and ability to bond well with other metals.
A large proportion of the lead used today serves the automobile industry in components such as storage batteries, radiators and solder for joints. Lead is an important part of chemical tank liners, radiation shields, in telephones, and power cable conduits.

But i guess the steward knows best how to regulate its usage (amendment when issues arise)

“Steward, our water isn’t clear anymore! We’ve been drinking contaminated water!”

“Toughen up, you’ll get used to it.”

“Ma’am, our children are suffering! Little Timmy can’t feel his legs, and Susan’s had a headache that won’t go away!”

“They’d ought to get used to it too then.”

Sorry Mr. Crosleight, i am a productive member of this society, as such i do not classify as "weak". Im not the one complaining about headaches and loss of sensibility, they are just slacking off with such excuses.
As a mantter of the fact im healthy as a horse ¯_(ツ)_/¯

But in all honesty, the heat piping sounds great actually. Lowered costs and maybe also lowered construction time?
