so i saw this guide here saying i could make a ?-Block containing a blue shell by modifying a tileset, only problem is, it only shows up as a brick block when i try it out. anyone know a solution for this? making a brick block containing a blue shell works just fine.

you can change the tile behavior of one of the unused question blocks to the "brick block containing a blue shell" one

#

then create a new "object" (object slot) with this block

#

might seem weird, but it will work fine even if you use the brick behavior on a question block

if this is the tile that you are using for the blue shell block, copy a question block tile over thay spot

#

so it looks like this

#

that will make the tile load the question block animations

oh ok. didnt know you could make any tile load the animation

i have one for bricks and one for ?-blocks btw

if you already set this up, then change the block's tile behavior

and the block i place shows up as a ?-block in the editor, but not the game

oh ok

even the question block?

if i select ?-block in the behavior thingies, there is no blue shell option, but the creator of this trick somehow got it to look like a ?-block even with the brick block being selected instead

did you change the tile behavior category? (on the side)

#

you can check the boxes. uncheck the "question block" box and check the "brick block" one

weird

#

the tile behavior shouldnt affect how the block looks like

this is mine for example

#

if its set up like this it should work, I dont know what would be going on then

being able to use the blue shell this way makes nsmbe far more superior than any mario maker that will ever release lol
