Part of why I got super interested in this mod was cause of the Celeste influence to be honest since that’s my third favorite game of all time
(And it also reminded me of skawo’s newer DS games. I haven’t really known much about nsmb modding scene for DS, Wii, 3ds, or Wii U otherwise)
Though from what I’ve noticed a lot of people tend to make much smaller projects instead of 8 worlds and such
20 small mods can be finished in the time it takes to make a big one

This is not true at all, there are many 8-World NSMBDS mods out there (both released and in development), it's just that they aren't given much attention because most of them were overshadowed by Newer DS

Illy's just trying to make a code hack that turns their sprites into 32x32 instead of 16x32, which is their original size
It's meant to make it easier to create custom koopa sprites, since the 16x32 limit is annoying, it was mainly requested by Purps and Afterlight

to my knowledge, people have contributed to the hack in some way
Ztar has helped with music, jpg has helped with models and animations, mamma Mia team, nld, will smith and shadey21 have helped with misc code, afterlight has helped with graphics, purps has helped with graphics as well and there is probably others who have helped that I can’t think of iff the top of my head rn
I’m just doing majority of the work and making levels with so many custom actors can be kinda hard. Also I’m really picky about level design

Tbqf, the only person stealing levels from yours and other people hacks was AnwarFarrouh, and we already dealt with that guy a long time ago, I'm pretty sure you can safely release a new updated demo now
yeah, i would probably be fine with others making A sides, but i just dont really like levels that are like nsmbwii levels in my hack, i like to keep them very random yet traditional like the levels in nsmb. Also having to fit the a and b side in the same area a lot of the time is quite a problem

It works with SM64DS's animations, Hayashi did that in SM256, adding Peach as a playable character. Are NSMB's anims that different?
Same anims i think, the problem is that replacing player models is dificult on nsmb, so if you make a small mistake, you will need to do everything all over again

Oh I see, yeah clearly rendering the model at DS resolution was the better way to go
Part of the problem is that some the newerds was downscaled using filtering that adds a blur effect

Those things break easily, had 3 DS Lites returned for a broken hinge.
Nintendo must've noticed this too and made the 2DS.
newer super mario bros was responsible for the hinge being more broken (screw whoever made 8-a,2-4, world 8 and w3, w5 and w6)

Yeah it’s themed around the abyss from hollow knight, there are bones everywhere, there is black lava which is meant to be void and the lava bubbles even kinda look like shades
