what are those
Okay that is cool
not all of them probably
it made some fireflies
trap dance huh
well
Spacecraft separation is between T+44:33 and T+55:13
you’ve been talked about twice
wonder why
The wiki article has already been edited lol
Tracking station coverage
ah
Wen payload deployment?
It’s going SSW to SSO so there’s no land ahead for minutes
You could see S1 tumbling it was so mesmerizing
what was the 10 sec thing
expected LOS
ah
great stream
SoCal
nsf goat
music
It's really impressive that the camreraman can jump so high to get between the campuses for that montage
space stocks server pissing and shitting right now
Hold it in
they are jumping to meo
oh hey we're getting someone to talk about BG after this dumb NASA package
wonder if it's will
lol audio is low
Here they come https://x.com/iamGrindFace/status/1808716618832490787
@thorn night !!! VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION !!!
I was hoping for a longer gelly but sad
TRUE
Also Das can we get EJ to go ksp shuttle streams again
since it launched retrograde it looked kinda trippy because it was staying in the sky almost still like a galaxy
INCOMIIINGGG
Mint chip 2: doesn't blow up edition
❤️
That panda guy really hates FF it’s crazy
yeah
Seriously can you please ask someone I've always wanted to name a mission and it's the objectively best name
Lmao F9 shot in the package
Can't read all rn dm me
oops
SpaceX launched too much at twilight in SoCal lately that many people on Twitter thought it’s from them again
my uncle did too lol
yeah lol
poor firefly
but I was able to tell him
They would usually be right at least
it looked quite different
it did
IS THAT DREAM
different trajectory n everything
when it first started emerging from the horizon it looked half the size of an F9
yep
i saw a firework and confused it with that
through the binos it was amazing ill tell you that
not many good shockwaves like an F9 but jeeze it was more clear you could see the rocket more
imagine living in the middle of the country and missing out from either space coasts
But I get to go on vacation to Starbase
Texas is the exception
good on ya
that's probably gonna be the coolest launch site in the future
elon likes to spoil us what can i say
i live in asia
EYYYYY WILL I THINK
that's the most late 2000s logo screen ever
YEAG IT'S WILL
I love it
HI WILL!!!!
blue ghost !
Coog
Shortline quick what's your opinion on Penn Central going bankrupt
they had it coming
I wore a Penn Central hat today
maybe that's why my MARC train got cancled and I had to wait for the next one
miranda dont you have a bet with blue ghots
solar panels (RL reference)
She also owes me $20 if NG buys Firefly before 2028
Okay small problem here
I am altering the deal, pray I don't alter it any further
any payments must be made in the form of a comically large check
Ahahah
My greatest achievement in life
See the problem with that is that I refuse to meet with any of you in person
I have two more of those
In front of the VIENNA INN
Maybe Shortline if he happened to be here for some ungodly reason
comic sans sign
I almost turned around and walked away when I saw that shit
Foodge was good though
ye
And you're right the portions are just right
spaceflight is the only reason I have to go to Texas
$a0.00

oh did the fire fly
i think it’s funny asl that we live in the same place but have never even ran into each other lmao
whats that describing, your mom?
rest in peace silver alpha
"let's talk a little bit more about the feet"
-Das, 2024
oh it was white after all
firefly chat now becomes #générał-space 2
not the weridist thing ive heard him say
hell yeah
nah that’s a photo of the F4
yeah i scrubbed back in the stream
You actually went and made a grilled cheese during the most important launch of the year to date
i waited til seco
KERBAL MENTIONED
i’ve barely had anything to eat today don’t hate
Ksp mentiond on a official launch webcast
Spectr???
what is blue ghost launching on
Falcon 9
i love collisions
a
F9R for M1 and MLV for M2
It’s not
250 newtons each for Spectre
They'll probably do one demo mission
mlv is antares
Nuh uh
肛交
https://youtu.be/0glSj--s8w4 joe bar
Super pretty, surprised to see the rocket show up in a slightly different location. Could just be the trajectory differences between two totally different vehicles?
But will it fly anything but Cygnus
T+44 to T+55
btw maddie can you clean up the debatebro phobes when you get the chance
I think your confusing MLV and Antares 330
I’m not
lmao
5 minutes until payload deployment starts
yay
EYYYYYY
!
WOOOOOOO
Here come the replays
when DO burn
is the stream staying on for it
please for the love of god don't have a dispenser failure I'll never hear the end of it
Was it all good?
nah austin
LCC is at Vandy
oh MCC is at vandy I thought you meant the fireflies
Oh hey Elytra
Hi me!!!!!!
Fired me 19 times
Green is tea tab (panda shaking and crying rn)
Oh it's TS1
sob
can someone fill me in on what you guys are on about? I’m not on the stream
MLV stuff
Okay so this is just a short MLV demonstrator
Like the Stoke demonstrator
Also right
Every time I hear about Elytra all I can think of is the Minecraft item
CatSat deploy will be confirmed on Twitter
Finally I’m eppy
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
I HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS FOR SO LONG
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
😎
nah my stream somehow got 40 sec. whine
why lmao
Well I see why Kevin didn't use the wide pad shot
VICTORY
This is one of the best official streams I've watched
I'm a bit biased, but it was great
Love the partially unscripted joking bits that aren't old people jokes for the most part and it's just interesting
Also das and other other host fit good
Now I just need a good engine shot and I can finally change my pfp after six months
Let see what's the next launch in the manifest... oh boy I can't wait for Unknown Payload on Long March 6A!!!
Also we got and nxsf shout-out and a ksp mentiond all in one stream
I love them
Some companies make the streams too professional and scripted to the point of boring
This was perfect balance imo
I wonder what Stoke's streams will look like if they ever make it to that point
Das is very good at that
It was good maybe a bit too much yapping at the end tho
This dude can eat multiple large rocks
Well nothign else to talk about
Might as well keep something interesting happening
Oh yes very
This was definitely that lol
Whar
If I were a LSP I'd just publish clean feeds and telemetry in addition to having a relatively technical official webcast
Best of both worlds
Imagine if catsat doesn’t deploy
Oh yeah that would also be nice
I hate bullshit fluff, you don't need to explain how the thing works a dozen times over
rocket go up, tell me how fast, not how
If only SpaceX did that
yall ate it up
Average viewer doesn't mind that
part of me kinda wants to
I just built a bit of the automation to pull chat questions in (which we haven't used in the 2 streams we've done anyway)
lots of other very talented people working on this
the thing is the streams aren’t just for the nerds
If I was an LSP then my streams would just be a looping video of a large rat rotating on a turntable to the tune of Around The World by Daft Punk. Also there would be no rocket and I wouldn't be an LSP
they’re also for the investors who don’t know much and also general public
That's why you publish clean feeds, let someone else dumb it down for the normies
the commentary is really important
why not just do it themselves so it’s the right commentary…? ik the first few launches i watched the commentary was v important to help me understand all of it
rip technical broadcast
FOR REAL
Protip: If you get to the point that you ever start genuinely using the word "normie" in any context that isn't a meme then you need to go outside for three days
and mission control audio
still though, i think it’s really nice that yall evidently invest time and care into it
Why did they get rid of this stuff
and yall show the rocket
Is there a reason or just don't feel like it
probably elon related
Spacex just seems like their gate keeping
they used to post really cool footage on their yt channel like 10 years ago
Flight 4 recap????
part of it is prob also them growing as a company and becoming more corporate
nah stuff like fairing tests
Oh yeah Ik
Old SpaceX had cool videos
SpaceX gate keeps so much now it's painful
MirNsa is typing
If I were the NSA I'd be in Guantanamo by now
I Know and Share too much to remain free if I were a fed
There are funguses in my walls
Real
you just magically know everything
As one does
Y'all shoul sleep
a lot is Schrodinger's Bait but w/e
i’m brushing my teeth rn
nah lol that's a foregone conclusion
“this block of starships will never survive reentry” “booster 7 will never recover from [redacted]”
okay in fairness on that first one literally no one expected it to
I’m waiting for catsat
Filmed the @Firefly_Space launch from LA! Very pretty 🚀 Video: https://youtu.be/0glSj--s8w4?si=C4_t5wev-U7XDiQK
💖 198 🔁 16
excuses excuses excuses
any confirmation?
Not yet for CatSat, the other 7 deployments have been confirmed
who made the dispenser
No idea
Any good photos?
definitely getting concerned
i think we might be waiting a bit
I'd not be surprised if Firefly is unable to confirm deployment
And that we'll have to wait for the CatSat team for acquisition of signal to actually verify that it did deploy
on a nominal flight plan i think alpha already did its deorbit burn
so
but who knows if that was delayed
idk why they wouldn’t
Could have lots of different reasons, it has happened before
1 was not in view
But the replays that they got didn't show any actual deployments
We did see that some dispensers were open
But we don't know which one CatSat was in
How strange
lmao someone preemptively edited the wiki page to success
The edit was made at 03:46, launch was 04:04
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Firefly_Alpha&diff=prev&oldid=1232514954
it was not actually me, surprisingly
Typical Wikipedia moment
I think Wikipedia still cites us as the source for B1085 launching on Crew-9
Even though we’ve literally never assigned B1085 to the mission
Hell B1085 as a vehicle didn’t even exist in NXF until I made a week or two ago
💀
looks like it’s fixed now lmfao

good work olivier
So the fire did fly ?
the fire flew
Very good
that's firmly aerospaces alpha rocket launching
Did we ever get confirmation of acquisition of signal
Nope
On this mission, Firefly said it completed a second stage relight and “nominal plane change” following deployment of the cubesats.
Maybe the sat failed
your welcome, the guy who keeps adding these unconfirmed things shouldnt be allowed to edit..
💀
People like that are why I stick to just editing NXF
Also my theory on the early testing of B1090 is probably because they don't want a GOES-U situation of a 2-month delay due to an issue found during testing of the center core
Seems understandable, if B1088 doesn't fly ax-4 then theres like a 90% chance its B1085
It's forgivable on GOES-U which can launch whenever, but with an interplanetary transfer window for Europa Clipper it would be a gamebreaker
Fair
Yeah agreed
They should probably have enough time to test B1088, but I'm sure B1085.2 is at least the backup plan
yah
CelesTrak has GP data for 8 objects from the launch (2024-125 not -126) of NASA’S ELaNa 43 mission atop an Alpha rocket from Vandenberg SFB on Jul 4 at 0404 UTC: https://spaceflightnow.com/2024/07/02/watch-firefly-to-launch-8-cubesats-for-nasa-on-5th-alpha-rocket/. Data for the launch can be found at: https://celestrak.org/NORAD/elements/table.p...
nooooooo
Is the second stage not on here?
7 sats and the 2nd stage, sounds like the final one didn't deploy
Which one here would you say is the 2nd stage
I dunno, just going off Jonathan's tweet
-125A
in his you can clearly see the 2nd stage made he plane change
ah yeah that one has the 450 pe as well
they not deorbiting S2? smh
could have used the extra burn to deorbit
At the time of this release, ongoing activities are underway by NASA and the CubeSat teams as they work to acquire signals for all satellites.
Looking ahead, Firefly is in the final testing phase for its next Alpha launch, FLTA006, in support of a dedicated commercial mission for Lockheed Martin. The Firefly team is concurrently ramping up for a responsive on-orbit Elytra mission that will launch on Alpha FLTA007 later this year while also working to complete the final readiness milestones for its first Blue Ghost mission to the Moon launching in Q4 2024.
Sounds like FLTA008 won’t be until 2025
Oh huh I did record my reaction apparently but it's way too embarrassing to share
"if that fucking lightning fails to ignite I'm never gonna hear the end of it"
-me, 2024
amazing
Holy moly
There’s your pfp Miranda
no
Why
Was it not you looking for one
I am, but it's a N$F photo lol
No?
Normally they have the little watermark
Miranda when the media company makes media
Tbf I don’t blame her for disliking them
I have absolutely no stake in it TBH
It doesn’t look like an nsf photo
I’m neutral, I don’t love them, I don’t hate them
I just don't know or care enough to form an opinion
I have better things to do, like play Minecraft and mindlessly browse my phone
Everyone has there own reasons for dislikings, there’s a few nsf members I like
I don’t dislike the people, there’s just some actions of the organization that I don’t agree with
THAT GOES HARD
https://voyagerspace.com/insights/voyager-satellite-rideshare-noise-of-summer/
Firefly’s Alpha vehicle lifted off at 9:04 p.m. PDT on July 3, 2024 and all eight satellites were successfully deployed.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
the film cooling almost makes them look transparent doesn’t it
but they arent
plume almost looks like it’s got fur on it
always makes me think the camera is glitching out or smth when i see it on vid
Is that the new gay alpha pic
Anyone have a good photo of the launch? I need one for my list
I need one of the whole rocket
dammit they're not on flickr
ooooh wait we got S2 photo
Nice
Just to revive this topic that it turns out CatSat didn’t actually deploy…till July 15 when it apparently spontaneous was set free

Firefly Alpha FLTA005 : ELaNa 43 : VSFB SLC-2W : 04 July 2024 (04:03 UTC)
Aliens helped oit
lmao what
did it get to do anything
Of the eight satellites launched on the last @Firefly_Space launch on July 4, after almost 2 months only one has been identified in @SpaceTrackOrg @S4S_SDA . Did all the rest fail? 7 out of 8 seems surprising if not launch vehicle related...
interesting
nothing to do with firefly
