#Starship Flight Test 2

why is it so funny to watch widened footage of people walking lmao
they're just so w i d e
I love it
wait how tf has it been almost 1hr 30 mins since it launched
I resynced the telemetry bar with the video of MECO & Hot Stage. Now it's more obvious the order of engine shut down, relight and failure on the boost back.
I suspect that booster failure is something like a f…
💖 27
engines just dropping out on booster
i mean its the first time they have attempted a relight of raptors on booster
Relight went great but fuel flow wasn't steadt
I wonder if sloshing of fuel did it
most likely
Cause it was all one side that dropped out
Maybe the side facing into the turn as it was slowing to zero degrees per second
yeah actually can we appreciate the fact that 925 launched on its FIRST ATTEMPT
What a joyous day
Indeed
might be safe to say the days of rApToR aBoRt are long gone?
I figured Starship launches are the cure for my ADHD
Only like 30 seconds hold too
SpaceX gotta be pretty happy
i’m so proud of spacex for not losing vehicle control due to loss of gimbal 🥰🥰
Significantly better this time
NEXT: SHIP 26 AND BOOSTER 8
performance jump from b7 to 9 was insane
2020 was such a year
Should be passing one of my remote stations I jury rigged now, I'm still looking at data from florida
If it didn't fully explode
nah no chance
here we go
So when do you think Flight 3 will happen with this?
No later than March 2024?
Debris I mean
spot on, actually
no later than March
my guess is my birthday, cuz why not, 21st feb
feb or march
3 month gap between 2 and 3
2 weeks time for the next 14 weeks per elon
Florida Station is indicating that at least 3 detectable pieces were at suborbital speeds, no carrier tones on any of them
tankers lining up
IFT-3 time lets goo
S28 rollout later today
and B10
quickstack and boom
off we go
Hawaii reads nothing detected
I love how Thomas Pesquet was as hyped for the launch as us
considering that the pieces are far smaller and were blown in all directions I'm not surprised
I think most of the pieces would end up in the East Atlantic or in the Congo jungle
It keeps some relative velocity, I'm getting more data from Florida regarding speeds
I see
OFT-3
When there is a launch like this that aborts that late, it's not exactly rare to have debris fall into the Reentry area
i doubt they’ll keep hotstaging
The fact that this is a genuine question is just...
How the hell are you so terrible Boeing
Florida clocked them at 108km, 15000km/h, and decelerating quick, deceleration isn't steady through the atmosphere but it should end up in the east atlantic
Def no carrier tones, so FTS definitely fired every charge
Good for them
CFT is NET April 24
Because it's Boeing
cars going to the pad
but what's that above them? That's right, it's S25
If anything hot-staging doesn't seems to be problematic this time for either B9 or S25
yeah hotstaging looked like it worked for the most part
apart from the uh
obvious
norminal performance
They've killed 346 people because they didn't wanna inform pilots of an automatic system that overrides all other control inputs and sends the plane crashing into the ground
Fuck Boeing
that's boeing for you
holy sh-
what's with the tankers
are they taking away methane or something?
what for lmao
could be N2
refilling tank farm for next flight tomorrow
IFT-3 tomorrow
refilling tank farm for Static Fire for B10 S28?
I'm lost
berger saying anything?
nope
how odd
probably writing an article about how spacex are the best
interestingly no views from S2 at all
even though we were supopsed to have starlink footage
yeah im hoping spacex will release some
in fact did we ever get vehicle cams?
nope
why were they being so cautious
people at the pad
?
oh I thought that was a reply lmao
nominal
AAAA
the tiles lmao
oh wow yeah
bottom left looks like KSP
doesnt even look real
it wasn't
all a dream
How soon til reentry?
does he know?
re entry was supposed to happen at around 1hr 20 mins i think i cant fully rememmber
does he know indeed
not gonna happen sadly
he doesn't know
TELL
s25 most likely detonated
Oh shit at what point
close to seco
I see
typical
was expected to get something from the FAA
hopefully it wont take as long to return starship to flight
How are they gonna find all the pieces
yeah the FAA are generally under pressure to push out a statement to keep the public How could the FAA allow this to happen? shit at bay
big magnet
in the belly of the fish people
If the pad held up and everything there was as expected that eliminates a ton of things
cant wait for everyone to read the headlines calling this a complete failure
stephen baxter was right
second launch disaster lmaoooo
wtf newspaper actually said it was good?
let's see what AFP has to say
🤩
SpaceX has blasted off the largest and most powerful rocket ever built, Starship, whose two stages successfully separated before exploding, according to Elon Musk's company #AFP
Yeah they stayed simple
Seems like it. They did call out that it didn’t make it but there pretty good
nice
waiting for reuters
“Soars past milestones” is a legit headline
#BREAKING
"mega Starship rocket"
mega moon rocket 2
should be mega mars rocket
what the fuck was this article from OFT-1 https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/rishi-sunak-dominic-raab-bullying-spacex-b2323682.html
💀
(that's also not what the headline says, are they using more clickbaity titles in opengraph embeds??)
LMAOOOO, BRITISH MEDIAS ARE AT IT AGAIN
chopsticks moving down
getting ready to move in the next booster
i say that
i think theyve stopped
yknow it genuinely wouldnt surprise me if they rolled either S28 or B10 to launch site
sticks already moving
i need to go eat something ill be back later
it's probably a question of is there enough improvement in b10/s28
s28 has electric TVC and thats all i know
we’re back
we're so barrack
it did detonate
you could see the boom
they met the bare minimum 🎉🎉
nice
what the hell
Wot
Ahaha what
all the way around. Makes no sense
About what?
half joking but the start of this book
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titan_(Baxter_novel)
Ah
i read the rest of the nasa trilogy in single day bursts but i havent had time to read this one yet 🥴
the moonseed summary was shockingly innacurate and kinda misleading so im excited to see this one
i made it up
nah these views are insnae
the stage sep shots are gorgeous

spaceguy5 is calling me a low iq elon fanboy for saying that today gave me some confidence that they might actually be able to make it work
because progress doesn’t matter at all apparently
fanboy is when you're excited about the future of spaceflight
bruh
Like
“you don’t work in the industry you don’t know anything”
like yeah no i don’t work in the industry and failure isn’t good but they made leaps and bounds here be so real
I'm legit one of the number ones Elon hater right now
losing like all credibility
competing with me
but I still was excited like a fucking child when it launched
Gate keeping someone using logic
What does Spaceguy5 do?
SG5 trying not to justify being a giant tool with "but I work in the industry and you don't" challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
Does he actually though
okay well
apparently there’s some stuff i didn’t know
today was progress but there’s also massive issues as well
According to whom
Did the plate survive
plate lived
Yes
fwiw, him
i don’t agree with everything he said but some of the stuff is uh
not okay
What’s his actual credentials though
never heard of him, and by the sounds of things I don't really want to hear of him
I have no idea who he his and for all I know he could be gaslighting you
I’m by no means an arbiter of the facts here, but who is he actually? Does he have actual sources or is it conjecture. Does he actually work for an aerospace company in an actual role that would inform his opinions?
SpaceX has posted some super cool photos but there compressed by Twitter and not usable for things

Starship Entry in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
He's apparently a NASA engineer?
Ah. Nasa also SLS guy. Reading his replies on Twitter he seems kinda like a POS
Apparently. He also seems to be a bit of a jerk tbh
he is
that looks mostly intact
pre reentry
Yeah. Then I’d take anything he says with a massive grain of salt
considering he just insults anyone who disagrees with him/points out his backpedaling, yeah
Yup. Fits the profile of a gaslighter pretty well
I’m sure he’s smart but he’s got a massive bias showing and his demeanor would be enough for me to discount anything he says
I find these people more funny than anything else
Sure. As long. As you take what they say with a massive amount of skepticism
What’s the current production cost of a raptor
he works on HLS on the nasa side iirc
more than $3
I just realised your name
Yeah. I looked him up. I wouldn’t believe anything he says

Yep

“everybody knows a little place like Kokomo now if you wanna go to get away from it all go down to Kokomo”
8th and final, rest in pieces S25 and B9, you gave us a great show today
they died as they lived, being destacked
Guess there was no onboard footage
there was
i’m sure
IFT-1 had onboards but they didn’t release it lmao
until later anyway
it was leaked tho
i wanna see it so badly
Ongah
we had onboard views during IFT-1 tho
Yeah, that was a pretty L take by him, “ test flight wasn’t a total operational success and therefore should be treated as failure and bad”
He sucks
Sky News: "This will be of course very disappointing news for all the people involved in this"
meanwhile on spacex broadcast, the crowd at Hawthorne cheering
tbf BBC called it a "partial success"
that exhaust is so beautiful and so pure
Yeah - had S25 held on for another 10-20 s I would even have called full success already
so close to "orbit" yet so far
IFT-3 hopefully will make it to the planned trajectory
after they reach their target of splashing down in Hawaii, i assume the next step is proper LEO?
we did?
yeah
quite short on velocity though
def had underperformance somewhere
even though all engines were on
assuming a nominal start-up test yes
so prob similar thing here
had it but didn’t show it for whatever reason
there will be some highlight video coming out soon prob
yeah
Thirty. Three. Raptors.
Super stoked to have captured Booster 9 and her Raptor engines in their glory this morning - the was the first time all 33 were successfully ignited with continuous burn through first stage flight.

OURPLE
CONE
sweet baby jesus
methalox plumes are beautiful
saw it with Terran 1
and with Zhuque 2 kinda
and now with starship
33 plumes turning into one is even better 😍
this might be my favorite wide angle
SO OURPLE!!!!
Mmm I don't think so
it was like ~2000 km/s short of ~8000 km/s
but even then most of the delta v comes from the last few seconds
It doesn't reach 8,000km/s of orbital speed
That's inertial speed the one shown on screen
So it only needs to go to 7.3km/s
And it was at 6.7km/s
huh
So basically 600m/s more and it would have reached orbit. Astra style
interesting
some people were saying it was 1-3km/s short which sounded like a lot but i was too tired to check them
ate
SECO for Falcon 9 has it at 27,057km/h, Starship went to 24,124km/h
814m/s difference
gotcha
In fact Starship was going faster than Falcon 9. It achieved the same speed about 15 seconds earlier than Falcon 9
ik orbital speed in m/s but not km/h off the top of my head
i think it’s somewhere around 17.5k mph
27500km/h ish
gotcha
watch out spaceguy5 gonna fight you
Seems like trajectory was nominal even until impact
So that begs the question
What went wrong that caused AFTS to light?
One last observation - during hot staging the booster velocity drops rapidly for a moment, this is faster than can be explained by gravity. If this is accurate the booster had negative g loading for a moment, poss…

Goes so hard
I find it hard to believe they don't already have one, maybe it failed and that what the engines pooped out

still in disbelief that that happened
also incredibly funny that raptor just decided to
im still in disbelief at B9's ascent

SpaceX finally got to fly their second integrated flight test of the fully reusable Starship & Superheavy system, the launch was spectacular, excitement had been guaranteed and excitement was delivered. The reusable part however remains elusive for now, but I look forward to seeing the next launch be even more successful.

Here I was giving a 50/50 of even reaching stage sep
meanwhile, B9 just gives us a flawless ascent

But it did lol

BRO WHAT
I'm not a big fan of the "ewww media smear SpaceX memememememememe" tweets by the Muskbros on Twitter rn
but this is actually ridiculous 💀
Is that the guardian
(what else would it be?)
the only two mainstream brands I can think of that would do something this level of dumb would be Guardian and Sky
I only recognised it from the font lol
same lol
"But two and a half minutes into the flight, the two stages of the spacecraft broke apart. SpaceX shortly announced that it could not find a signal from the second stage, which it declared "lost"."
that right there is some terrible journalism
the way its written suggests that the stages "breaking apart" (stage seperation) was unintended and directly led to the loss of the vehicle, whereas literally anyone could tell you that wasnt the case
starship abort system real
It says one of two things:
- The journalist doesn't know jack about spaceflight and didn't bother watching the broadcast.
- The journalist knows what happened and worded it like that to intentionally deceive the reader.
https://youtu.be/G0__nEgXafI?t=46 the last paragraph reminds me of this

nah there's a video of re-entry (allegedly) filmed in puerto rico
poor bastard exploded : (
yeah
https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-67462116 the BBC News article was better put together though
i dont like how they all say "Elon Musk's Starship" or "Elon Musk's SpaceX Starship" though
basically the only thing he's useful for there is the occasional "tweak" to plans (e.g saying not to install flame deflectors before IFT-1) or for getting money for building from
it was tubling
spinning
imagiine hydraulic issue
spinning and leaking fuel
oh becuase fts activated
short
kinda funny icl
That’s kinda the issue of him being the face and of him having been the face during SpaceX’s rise to relevance
Starship has been something that he’s gone on about for years so when people see starship they think of him
yeah
Plus it’s a news article they have to get the viewer interested somehow
Elon Musk in a headline is just too good of an opportunity

this is also real
the whole point of science communication and reporting is to describe stuff that is done in a highly technical space to people who have no technical knowledge
i.e. literally everyone
which means you have much less resolution when it comes to describing things, or at least describing things in a way that people are willing to understand
the set of thoughts that can be practically communicated in an article like this is much, much smaller than the number of things that can happen and thus you will lose detail and information

The thing is that the headline, most of the time, is the only thing people will see. They won't read the article, whether that be because they think it's a waste of time, or it's locked behind a paywall, or something else.
Personally, I think that Starship shouldn't be at the forefront of spaceflight news if the only description for IFT-2 in mainstream news companies is "Elon Musk's Mega Moon Rocket Fails."
Ya can't condense stuff like this into a headline like that without cutting some corners in terms of honesty/clarity
Any new news since about 9 hours ago?

Starship Entry in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
spacex's stream on twitter has 8 million views
4 million off from IFT-1
the tv news programmes here still calls ift-2 a failure, but only in the headlines
their reporting is still way more accurate than whatever the fuck the guardian vomited out
IFT-2 was wildly more successful than IFT-1
Seeing starship fly in space was fucking surreal
It was a failure of the full mission goals, and as long as they say it was still a good flight then that's oky imo
Hi. What's the weight of the fully fuelled Starship? (I mean the whole rocket, both stages, before launch)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpaceX_Starship#Design
~5000 metric tonnes
Starship is a two-stage super heavy lift launch vehicle and spacecraft under development by SpaceX. It is the heaviest, tallest and most powerful space launch vehicle to have flown. Starship is intended to be fully reusable, which means both stages will be recovered after a mission and reused.
The Starship space vehicle is designed to supplant S...

Waiting for someone to relese a 9/25 photo that can be freely used 🙃
Actually we don't know why these 2 were built in the first place
27 has developed a crack during testing and was scrapped
Random comment but the best part about yesterday's flight was how surreal it was seeing starship flying under its own power in the upper atmosphere
iirc they were planning to fly them in the assumption IFT1 went perfectly but decided against it?
My favorite part about yesterday was watching it live with ~30 other aerospace engineering students
Everybody laughing at the godzilla comparison, cheering as it launched, and laughing as the booster exploded
24h ago almost exactly
I'm still astonished at how good of a tracking shot multiple people got of the ship while it was in space and literally 1000km downrange
Like is that just because of the sheer size of starship?
that actuallly sounds wholesome
The SpaceX interns among us were very proud of their work
wish i had irl friends that care as much as i do for this
Who wouldn't be
but on the other hand the nxf discord server exists
Also idk if this makes sense but it's weird seeing a big rocket flying like a small rocket
Like the way it moves gives off the false sense that it's a lot smaller than it really is
at launch i feel like its the opposite
but later on in flight it does feel like that
cuz its so far away
and the rocket looks small but in reality its like 120m tall
I think once they actually start holding the rocket down for a bit after engine ignition it's gonna leap off the pad like falcon 9 or any smaller rocket
just 1 min late
I’ve found that the “failure” thing is only really in the headline. Everything else is pretty accurate in the articles themselves.
They mention SpaceX’s test ethic, that this was a test flight, that everyone is happy with the results and so on
Which is somehow more infuriating, since a lot of people only ever read the headline
yep
observing exactly the same thing in Rus Mass Media & communities
ppl get angry cuz of headlines
even of headlines that say "explosion" (which is true, what else was that?)
It does a good job of separating Muskbros from the SF community as a whole, though
Because now half of Twitter is ablaze with “why media no like SpaceX? they just hate Musk? conspiracy???”
Which, granted, it was already like that because of recent events but still
It's iPhone tho
Looks like a pretty new iPhone
what a view
Starship’s hot-stage separation was the first time this technique has been done successfully with a vehicle of this size

that video is INCREDIBLE
u can see the sea level raptors gimbal
and the booster relight its central engines
Scott Manley mentioned it just now, and I think he's right
Since the refurbishment isn't needed for the plates and overall Starbase repairs may only take a few weeks
There may be a static fire (for B10?) before the end of the year
Seems a bit early to call, but I'm gonna go ahead and say B10/S28 stack might be the one for IFT-3
Well B10 I feel is pretty much a given unless there's some major change they want to make that would be better done on a booster thats not fully assembled, and as far as ships go there's no reason to send S26 with how well IFT-2 went so unless they have a particular issue with S28 its the next ship in line, so id agree
S26 also needs a lot of modifications that 25 got and S28 is already getting so 28 could be tested faster and flight ready faster imo
don't really see the point of flying s26 other than "getting rid of it"
More data
yeah
S26 hypersonic test flight when
just getting rid of s26 and getting data
realistically it's not gonna test re entry is it
S28 gets you far more data and is likely around the same time to get ready for flight
and it's better built with upgrades
And may not even matter because for all we know the booster could very well be the bottleneck time wise
And, well, licensing lol
B10 has been tested and I think B11 has been stacked
looks like a render
i knew it looked familiar
those might be some of the most real looking renders ive ever seen
The render is missing the exhaust of the fire suppression system
Which, no pun intended, was super cool
true
poor guy got his renders stole :((
Didn't even credit him lol
he probably thinks its real
I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case
I wouldn't be surprised if he thought those were real photos
Feel like this is almost certain 😂
Yeah they usually have really good battery life
they were very confident about engines lol
Well, in hindsight now, not confident enough lol
It took me until reading SpaceXs reply to this to realise what I was looking at
yeah this seemed optimistic to me at the time, though the imbalance in propellants is pretty 😬
G-limiting in the lower atmosphere is fascinating, but with such an unstable configuration maybe it’s reasonable to expect something similar
Woah woah, it says explicity in the rules that porn isn't allowed on this server

this gonna be good
Now this was a big leap forward for SpaceX, but I think the best thing to come out of all is the opportunity for pictures of starship in flight where it isn’t falling apart
that has to be a pad avoidance manuever right
I'm still in awe that no engines on Super Heavy cut out
during boost phase at least
That's the general theory
if S28 is available tho
the tiles falling off 😭😭
holy fucking shit the amount of ads

The Independent rlly dropping the ball with this one
tier list of IFT-2 coverage IMO
and most of these articles aren't even misinforming (at least, not on purpose)
some - especially the CNN one - are great reads that sum things up rather nicely
like I said before, just the clickbait-y headlines that are dumb
"Most." My brother I don't think the FWS is going to trigger another months long review over Starship making some puddles next to the pad.

I will do anything for a smoother frame rate slo-mo for that camera
because that post is the only video from that angle on the entire internet at the moment and I just need it to be smoother PLEASE GOD
"crack"
the whole fuckin common dome imploded lmao
I'm gonna take this as an indication that Booster 11 will be the next to fly
Probably gonna be joined by Ship 26 28
Nah. B10 has had engines for a little while now
Oh wait it does?
yeah, it's still sitting on the engine install stand but they're all good to go
full outfit of R2B2B2
Ok then S28 and B10
yeah
S28, B10. Easy
ah ok yall already had this talk 💀
You can see the skin of the flaps rippling
(someone else observed that I'm not egale eyed enough lol)
Acoustic enviroment goes crazy
Not that good
I hope they paint S28's number on the right way around this time
We love to see L2 getting leaked
mhm mhm
This is the wrong channel
But was the cause of the scrap or did that happen while they were scrapping it? Cause I'm more of the thought that it was #2 here
my fucking head
insane view
View from atop the tower at liftoff
thank god, no slo mo
at least, no bad slo mo
would've appreciated the proper slo mo
TWR?
yes
TWR: no
Ariane 5 dead tho
Remember Ariane 5, embrace Starship
What’s the highest liftoff TWR a for an orbital launch vehicle that wasn’t NOTSNIK pls
Saturn V might be the lowest but I’m not 100% on that (at least, nominal lowest)
Apparently it might be this guy? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Series_(rocket_family)#SS-520
S-Series is a fleet of sounding rockets funded by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) that have been in service since the late 1960s. Manufactured by IHI Aerospace and operated by the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS). The nomenclature of the S-Series rockets is the number of "S"s indicates the number of stages, and ...
I shoulda known
using Astronuatix thrust numbers TWR is ~5.64
it zooms
The SS-520 No. 5 three-stage sounding rocket launched TRICOM-1R microsatellite from the Uchinoura Space Center, in Kagoshima, Japan, on 3 February 2018, at 05:03 UTC (14:03 Japan Standard Time, JST). TRICOM-1R weights approximately 3 kg and was designed to take photographs of the Earth with its onboard camera.

High enough TWR to be launched at a hobby rocket site
gotta love that thing even with its solid propulsion
My L1 launch had a lower TWR than that thing 😄
Doesn't really said anything that we didn't know, but it's a good summary of the events
Well maybe this part
“The team verified a safe command destruct was appropriately triggered based on available vehicle performance data.”
So confirmation that AFTS did ignite
And booster's didn't
Well it certainly tried to ignite
I don’t think that’s confirmation booster’s FTS didn’t activate. FTS is still unplanned, and we saw the explosion start from where it was mounted
plus it was way bigger than any explosion of a rocket based on other stuff
Aup look who showed up
it spreads
Starship returned to integrated flight testing with its second launch from Starbase in Texas. While it didn’t happen in a lab or on a test stand, it was absolutely a test. What we did with this second flight will provide invaluable data to continue rapidly developing Starship.

Yeah Twitter not supporting 360 video is probably the reason
New footage from NSF's team in the field, Mary, Jack, and Sean of their non-broadcast 4K footage of the Starship Flight 2 Launch on November 18, 2023.

Slow motion tracking shot of Super Heavy's 33 Raptor engines shortly after liftoff
💖 74
Wish they just super cut of all their tracking footage like tim dod did
Or even release some onboard footage
I just want like 1 frame from ship
Atleast
Video of hot stage from flap cam would be really cool tho
holy
Just noticed in tim dods clip of the booster exploding you can see ethe shockwaves of the explosion in the slow mo
Yeah it's super cool
the tim/cosmic perspective footage is amazing in every way
Tracking camera footage of Super Heavy MECO (most engines cut off) as 30 of the booster's 33 Raptor engines shut down in preparation for hot-staging
MECO (most engines cut off)
That was also Flight 1
Most engines cut off
They need to release the whole sequence in 4k on youtube
Slow mo 4k view of the hot staging with Booster RUD included
woah
Is there a specific reason we're yet to get any on board videos
I would guess they dedicated their downlink bandwidth to other telemetry
^^
No boom?

Ive mentioned it before, but the N1 rocket (at the bottom) was REALLY wide. About 17m (55) in diameter. Almost double Starships diameter. Here's how they look side by side. I'd have loved to see high resolution recordings on the N1 cause it's an a whole other level of exhaust.
Yes
On YouTube
Whole thing not just a highlights video
Ive Just Noticed On The 360 Video. That There Was A Small Fire On The OLM. Maybe Thats Why It Was So Burnt After Launch Lol. After All Its The Most Powerful Rocket Ever.
might’ve been the plume deflecting on the stuff not it itself burning
those or the plume putting a hotspot on it that incandesces
The rocket also did a pad avoidance maneuver so that side of the OLM took more damage than the rest
btw, what do you think, was the pad avoidance maneuver something they added between flight 1 and 2 or was musk just clueless about it
Idk
lol
musk being clueless is a super safe bet these days
see: "Raptor V3," tower catch, being a useful idiot for the right, etc
oh hey it's tomorrow
or rather it is today
goody
yes lmao
Yeah I laughed when I saw
Ah yes that glare looks exactly like an onboard cam
So what's the most comprehensive breakdown of the launch so far
Water hammer broke engines
I mean that's the best explanation the SF community has rn
SpaceX hasn't released any reports on it
combination between prop slosh and fluid hammer for the SH
I'm still thinking software error for Starship
Did S25 have the same fire extinguishing system that B9 got?
I know that S25 still use hydraulic TVC
no
Bet that S28 will be retrofitted with one if this turns out to be an engine bay fire
As far as we know, no. Hence why I think it got Booster 7'd
I wish
#trust
It's possible based on production alone the question is whether they can make improvements in that time and whether govt review takes a while or not
FAA will take less time since the fish people can't butt into the discussion
But idk if the mishap investigation will be done within four weeks
100% can happen in January tho
The fish people 😭
representing the Fish people, I can say
Starship IFT-2 from just outside of the exclusion zone.
Sorry this is super late. I originally wasn’t going to post this footage but changed my mind. Hope you enjoy!

A few onboard views shown in that video, including a view from the booster just after staging
Only this
There was an onboard shown earlier in the video too
Onboard?
Wonder why they only got 0.5 seconds of on board unless they have more they not showing

let's just say they had some connection issues in flight. So didn't get to downlink much
That's SpaceX
I'm assuming they made that video so late just for that last clip
Starship Flight Three
You circled the wrong booster /s
oh we see the Straship rud
@SpaceX One funny thing you can see during the Booster RUD are the grid fins getting yeeted out of the forward section lol
fixed
when we we getting a superheavy with several falcon cores bolted to the side
this video is incredible
some of the views look like a render
B4 S26 IFT-3 lets go
No flaps
I hate
Fake bc I'm sure the mach diamonds were far more viable
oh it's real
HELLP WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE THAT @calm badge
Not sure
discord looks weird now
ahahahahah
I've been waiting for this day for like a year
poor peasants
just use the old kotlin app
year and a half out of date and yet far more functional than any version after it
WHAT THE FUUUUUCK
MY PFP IS NOW A FUCKING CRESCENT BISEXUAL MOON
I feel like they deadass waited for the gayway to mars sign to be done for they ending shot in the ift-2 video
Test
Hmm that's weird
That's not what I see
CRESCENT
CRESCENT
CRESCENT
CRESCENT
CRESCENT

You are now Ranibi
jupiter 3 but spacex
The pronounciation is so close to habibi
it's funny
because it means my love
Habibi Ranibi
So this is why I've been seeing photos of it pop up on twitter again
no way they remembered their password??
But I tought X was the superior app and Youtube was crap ?
No.
It is the everything sucks app
But sadly you can't even use it as a vacuum
That would be the sucks everything app
yeah there has to be a pressure differential for that
and we know that the average twitter user has an empty skull
They also live in a sealed echo chamber with a hard vacuum
really cool audio https://youtu.be/OuYLHrudQVI?si=hRLKOMaMDNyXzRSD
Awesome launch of Starship this morning! Here’s my phone video that captures the excitement of the crowd and the immense sound of the rocket. This is from 6 miles away at South Padre Island, Texas. From the 8th floor of the Margaritaville Beach Resort.
Again the was a test flight so incredibly pleased that it got farther than the first test fl...
How am I just realizing that Starship did a roll like the other SHLVs 💀
The NickTracker cam on EA’s video has some beautiful footage of it
It did on both flights
Oh fr?
From SPI at liftoff you only should see the heatshield side and yet about a minute into flight all the footage from SPI is seeing the leeward side
That's cause it rolls
The funny thing is Starship flies sideways
It doesn't go belly up or down, it just goes sideways
I mean sure
But I meant the roll to go sideways after liftoff not the ones a few minutes later xD
what an exciting mission!!! who's ready for flight 3
hey elon bought x, expect him to want people to use x
but yes, an asshole move
