I saw someone else do a ranking so I’m doing one too

  1. igor - genre blending masterpiece with unique vocals and splashes of rap which all mix together to create an album which perfectly incapsulates the draining effort of being dangerously attached to someone and not being able to get out of the loop of having feelings for them

  2. chromakopia - tyler’s most unique soundscape to date, ranging from melodic takes like darling i and judge judy, to harsh silly beats like rah tah tah and thought i was dead, to the ballads we hear in his moder era a lot today such as like him. the album is underrated in my opinion due to it sort of acting as a combination of everything tyler had done up until that point

  3. estatesale - only narrowly falling behind chromakopia is the estate sale. cmiygl is in my opinion the best tyler album to listen to when you’re first getting into tyler. the beats aren’t as complex as some of the stuff on albums such as cherry bomb, yet they are creative enough to grab your attention. it features tyler’s best technical ability when it comes to rapping and explores other genres such as dance on songs such as RISE! and more laid back songs such as SWEET/ITYTD. for the most part, it’s an album which not much concept to be explored, allowing for an effortless listen, but still offers deep cuts such as WILSHIRE and SORRY NOT SORRY

  1. flowerboy - tyler’s new era begins with flower boy where he cuts a lot of the bs from his music and only says things with meaning and purpose. the production is warm, bouncier, and has a spring awakening vibe. the only thing which puts this album down for me is age. it’s ten years old next year and with that comes a lot of songs which have grown off me such as november i ain’t got time and glitter. a few years ago it’d be top 3 but tyler makes much more interesting music now

  1. wolf1 - wolf is a very similar situation to flower boy. in terms of tyler’s old discography, it’s his most mature, with touching songs such as lone and answer and focuses more on tyler rather than his fictional personas. the thing which holds this back again is age, but more heavy this time. tyler’s production, whilst unique, never become as complex as it is today until 2017. a lot of filler and bad songs can be found on here
#
  1. cherrybomb - cherry bomb is tyler’s most important album to date but perhaps his least memorable. that’s because it acts as a bridge in his career between the older discography and the mature, new discography. as a result of this, tyler experiments a lot on cb and a wide range of sounds ranging from jazz, to experimental, to r&b are on the tracklist. for the most part, the softer sounds dominates the album and the aggressive experimental songs fall flat. if it weren’t for the filler songs, it could be higher. tyler’s production is at his most creative here though

id say igor is more important than cherry bomb considering its his biggest project so far

what i mean by cb being his most important is that without it his sound wouldn’t be what it is today
