Ayit is pretty good, Sa'ar is meh.
The A-4 in general doesn't.
I had quite fun with the A-4H but the A-4E early when you don't have missiles or anything is just pain. It has worse engine which does output I think 3200 kgf so your acceleration is non existent (with he A-4H I could outrun a MiG-15/17 now I can't) the Ayit fixes it because it has even stronger engine than A-4H.
As well as the uptieres when I meet F-100D, MiG-21s, MiG-23s, F-104s and other afterburning planes that can't go supersonic
(I don't know what to do about them, how to counter them)
I mean you say no missiles but even 9Bs or whatever are decent at 8.7 and it has CMs as well but it's mostly a CAS jet
Yes the AIM-9Bs can be useful but I don't have them researched yet I'm at mods rank 2 but yes countermeasures are useful when you meet Yak-38 or something that has R-60s
Even better missiles you can flare
Example Swiss Hunter has 9Js
At 9.7 those can be flared easy
Yes that is true you have good defense but offense is lacking
I mean does it get the cannon pod
it does but the cannon itself is crap i played with it in the A-4E early US and in F-4J
Before or after the changes recently like 3 days ago
Since I like the colt cannons myself
Work fine for me
well i played with it before the changes but still i dont have that modification researched my plane is nearly stock the only thing i have researched are belts and now i research flares/chaff to get missiles
Thing about the Skyhawks is that they are Delta wings and you will lose alot of speed in turns or maneuvers
The lower speed you are the easier it is for something else to pick you off in a full rate fight
such as a MiG-15bis or Sabre
The guns are also kinda pointed downwards so aiming is crucial unless you prefer the gunpod which affects your overall performance
