#Smaller TT worth it? GRB

I've played germany up to ~5.3avg and while it's fun and my favlrite country to play, im wondering what other tank lines are fun/worth it. I'd like to avoid USA and RUS atm (USA because I honestly find all the mediums being almost the same pretty dull, and RUS because while russian bias can be fun to some, I don't want that yet.)

I've had some fun with lighter British tanks, and the skill of aiming solid shot has helped a lot, but dealing with early British reverse gears and peashooters is eh.

France early feels horrible, but I hear good things about a few later tanks, plus I'm a huge fan of wheeled tanks (I poured heart and soul into the french wheeled tanks when they were added to World of Tanks)

China is off-putting to me because since most of the lower tiers are lend-lease or purchased tanks it just ends up as a mishmash of stuff, for better or for worse. (I.E having american tanks for hilly terrain AND Rus for urban maps where gun depression isn't as necessary)

Japan I hear is glass cannons, and since gaijin won't pull a Wargaming and put in the O-I experiment superheavies, thats what they'll stay. I'm trying them out now, but is it worth sticking to them?

Sweden seems cool, and I must have played them with friends before because I have the IKV with super fast reload, but the thought of learning more keybinds for pneumatics is daunting. But the narrow strv74 seems funny and the Bkan 1C seems cool, but they also jump BR a lot from 5.3 to 7.0.

And lastly, Italy. We all see the memes, and usually I laugh when I see the baby tank, then I forget they exist as they get lost in the smoke. While being small means you can sneak and hide a lot, and thats fun to me, is the whole TT worth it?

@sand cloud I’ll make a detailed note a bit later on

And personally I have decent rank in Sweden and Italy and France and Japan is like tier 4

I guess I should add some context. I played WoTanks for a long time before getting truly into War Thunder, and a lot of my Tank-to-Country knowledge stems from that. While I understand the arcade style of WoT can cause some inaccuracies when trying to play WT, I figured I would ask to be sure/ clear up any mistakes. Wot features a swedish TT of their own and while WT shares the TD line of Strvs, they are missing the Kranvagn and the oscillating heavies. However, they feature a longer Ww2/CW medium tank line, most of which feature pneumatics, so I assumed that carried over to WT (outside of the special Strv aiming)

Ah, I see. Was the Strv 103 the only pneumatic fixed gun TD Sweden has in WT?

#

Hold that thought, I realize I could just check that myself.

#

So it would seem. Also, i was mistaken in calling the prem TD an IKV, it is the SAV 20.12.48

#

*In assuming the sweden tree had pneumatic mediums i was thinking of WoT's UDES tank line

Ah

#

Even then though WOT has a lot of stuff that is not in WT

#

Like the EBR IIRC changing whatever could be wrong

Lynx and EBR 8whl scouts had a speed/traction mode that often picked up the center wheel(s), and reverse gears that were close to if not as good as the forward gears.

See that's not in WT

WoT also had a bunch of damage model issues that really mess with certain matchups in WT. Like trying to instinctively aim for cupolas when using solid shot

It's just a normal wheel tank

Well car

At least the KV-2 functions the same though

Hope this helped @sand cloud

What the fuck

Uggghh I’ll just have to type it again

Italy: great 2.7, 4.0, 8.7. After 9.3, bad top tier. Pretty fun, 6.3 is good as well. Decent cas mostly at mid to low tiers.

#

Sweden: great overall tree, good at 2.7, 5.0, 5.7. With the current warbond shop pyorremersky, great cas and a good fighter. I was not a fan of 8.0-9.7 sweden. From 10.0 they are insanely good. Limited case options mostly

#

Japan: glass cannon land. Pretty fun, top tier is good but no spaa. 8.3, 6.7, 5.7, 6.3, 4.7, 3.7, 2.7 were the standout brs. Decent cas at low tiers, great fighters for grb. The later fighters have either 250 kilobombs or great rockets.

#

Realshatter has fucked the damage on the most common 20 mm for jpn, making it the worst 20 mm nation imo.

#

China is really good, with a best of both approach and good cas throughout the tree. Up to 5.7 it’s mostly russian and US stuff, but after that the indigenous vehicles are great. Good top tier.

#

France has workable and even good tanks, but really poor cas at most brs and no actual french prop is anywhere good for grb. Top tier is sligjtly subpar.

#

Britain is good up to 8.3, with top tier being pretty bad.

What I would recommend, if realshitter™️ is fixed, is getting japan up to 8.3. This will prepare you for italy, which I would take to 9.0/8.7/ whatever br the dardo is

I will say, im having some fun in lower tier Japanese tanks, but only select ones. The Ho-I is just fun to beef out in since usually you get put against Italian peashooters in my experience. So far my record in a 9 kill match in the Ke-Ni (I spawned as a stock Ho-I, but got beat up in an attempted ambush against a H35) then went on a 9 kill streak in the Ke-Ni
