I've been thinking about playing either US or Russia, I have reached 5.3 (air and ground) with Germany. Which nation do you recommend or should I start researching both? I can maybe get 1 air and 1 ground prem for the tree I pick. Any suggestions? Below 7.7 would be preferable because the premiums are cheaper below that.

I don't have too much experience with or against their TD's but from what I remember low tier they have really good frontal armour

Agreed. Russia has better armor and some very good guns that are user friendly compared to the usa. There are some meme vehicles but not as many as Germany, and the td’s are almost all good, some are the super long reload ones but all the td’s have very good guns for their br’s
Usa on the other hand will take a bit more skill to play but the tradeoff is how good the vehicles are once you get a feel for them. You can play a bit more aggressive due to the early stabilizers on the Shermans and you do have some very good guns, your armor is weaker than the Russians above 3.7/4.7 but once the armor gets worse for the usa, the aircraft get better and better

I like the Pz IV H, Hetzer, Puma, Sd. Kfz 222 at low tier and Panthers at ground
At air I like the Bf 109's Stukas and Fw 190's

Are the both trees enjoyable? US gets many M4's but Russia gets many T-34's. Does it get boring in either tree?

I usually play Russian 3.7-4.7 pretty often compared to the American lineups, I find that the Russian lineups are just better, you have more variety of good tanks for there br and low tier Russian CAS has better flight performance. But for ARB I think they are both good depending on what play style you like since American props should be played completely differently to Russian props.

What I dont get, why the t34 85 is 5.3 (was 5.0) and 5.7 and the KV85 only 4.7
Also the KV 85 is one of the best accelerating heavy tank

as for which nation to pick, i would personally go with usa, at 4.0 and below it is really straight forward to play, you get great CAS, good AA and very decent tanks
the only 2 things that would make me want to play russia would be russian bias and not having to face russia
shermans just eat T-34s for breakfast, heck, i even got one with my M19 yesterday even tho my turret ring was broken
sure, you dont have stalinium armour when playing usa but when you know how to play you will do really well
