turn off afterburners if the missile is coming straight from behind, you can pretty easily flare them if you are perpendicular or head on from it.

Just try to not put your self into a position where many people can missile you at once. It's obviously a bad idea to stick around a the giant deathmatch cloud for too long since it's hard to keep track of many opponents at a time. I usually don't have too much of an issue against missiles if you put yourself in a spot where you only have to keep track of 3 or 4 people.

Staying low shouldn't do much against IR missiles since they are IR, they track heat signatures. Dropping throttle for a bit and flaring is going to be better, going low only works against SARH missiles. You are cluttering the radar on the missile so it looses track.

Top tier is more about positioning than anything else, if you are in a bad spot you will die. That's pretty much it. Since you are in an F-4J I would probably avoid being the first one in since the radar is okay but not great. I would just let your team clash first and then go in to pick off people alone or not paying attention. When you are in a Phantom which doesn't really have that great flight performance your only chance in killing someone is probably going to be in the headon. Once they get past your headon they can easily just get on your 6 and stick there since you don't have the maneuverability or engine power to get them off.

if i am honest im mentaly fucked up right now because im mad af but i cant show any of it and it just keeps building up with getting killed all over again in the phantom and if i should say stats
I killed 14 people in 42 battles and i died 32 times

that is 0,3 people per game

If you are frustrated I would just take a break, getting angry at WT isn't going to make you any better, idk maybe try and play some lower tier stuff, I find it more entertaining anyway. Not like it's the end of the world top tier gameplay isn't anything to write home about.

well yes im here not to play toptier but to research the pretty jets nothing else i like how they look etc. and not playing them

I would probably stay on the deck like around 500m and fly off to the side a bit and wait for your F-14s and F-16s to spot people first, just try not to be the first one into the fight since people like to latch onto the first thing they see.

If you are trying to research rank 6/7 I would play the F-5E or F-8E better br

im just going to write how i play if you would agree
i take off at around 400 kph and stay as lowes to ground as posible like max 100m above it i stay around 1000 kph trying to save some fuel so half afterburner and i fly behind enemy bases and then turn back to base so i can be on enemy's six but it doesnt work and there is always someone behind me or just some fucked up missile gets me

You can run the 9Ds on the F-8 and those have a lot of range now since they burn for a long time you can easily get 2.5km kills on people not suspecting a missile to hit them

Yea im going for F-4E now and then i plan to go for the F-104s and the rank VI strike aircraft line so i cna get the rank VIII unlocked

Well think about why people get behind you in the first place and where you are putting yourself on the map. I can't really imagine what is happening in the matches.

Also keep in mind that the Phantoms are not that great for there BRs in the first place so don't expect to win any 1v1s tbh

The only thing good about the F4J is that it has Aim-7Fs and a okay PD radar

Idk sometimes try to mix it up or try different strats, maybe something might work. I haven't touched the Phantoms in a while but usually in Top tier I just avoid being the first but not hang back long enough to miss after the merge

It's very situational, but tbh if I was going to grind rank 7 jets I would just use the planes that are the best for there BR, so F-8E or the F-5E

10.3 and 10.7 is way less chaos than 11.0+

probably go for the F-5 there is nothing past the F-4 so all modules take twice as long to research

Don’t know exactly how hot the F4J runs without burner but sometimes the 9L will just got for you even through flares. Personally don’t often have this issue but if you see someone with 9L’s try to make them shoot it in all aspect it’ll be easier to flare and dodge (Also works okayish if you don’t have flares after the all aspect nerf a little while ago)

I always do I'm hugging the ground, no AB, flare and turn the bad thing about it is that the f-4j has top mounted flares and I do press the flare button only once because 30 flares and 30 chaff is a small amount
The top mounted flares are the worst thing someone could come up with because I think even if the missile tracks flares and you are turning it still be in your turning circle

Well I played Italy for a while (to like rank 3 tanks and rank 2 planes) and I agree Italy has huge repair costs

And it's not 20k it's 10k
For some reason when I play things that have like 10k+ repair cost I play them very carefully because it still seems to me like it's big repair cost (well it kinda is when u have to save up a mil for a plane or tank)
