#Ki-100 VS Ki-61-II

Ki 61 II is still faster enough to make that difference, in general any plane variant in the Japanese tree thats faster by any amount gets a big jump.
Hmm, I see. I'll play both and see, but I think if I am going for speed I should just play the Ki-61-I tei with the interceptor spawn at 4.3.
Ki-61 II is one of the worst Ki-61s to play. It turns, climbs and retains energy worse than the - Is, only thing it is better at is having better top speed - making it go a whole 30kph faster - so 530 kph. That means that at least you out run the spitfires in downtiers, but now you can't climb as well and more stuff can't out turn you. Also most things still catch you as 530kph is pretty miserable for a 4.7
When it comes to Ki-100 i'd also advise to stay away - it's pretty much same story. Sacrfises quite some turn and climb just to go faster... by less than 10kph. Also overheats more.
The 3.3 and 3.7 Ki-61s are the most competetive as they have the same engine and airframe as the later - Is, while japanese .50s still provide you with an excellent firepower.
While the 61 IIs flight performance is eh compared to the 61 Is, you do get a lot more useful ammo for the guns than the others. Although I'd hope if you're playing Japan you'd know to conserve ammo by now.
In the end though it's really a preference thing. The lower Br ones are generally better but bringing them up to 4.7 will make it sketchy anyways so just up to you
Yeah I was just looking at weird planes to fly since I was bored.
All the other Ki-61s are well armed and sacrifising your only saving graces for a higjer br and a bit more ammo is not really a good idea.
