Bf 109s have overall very good climbrate, as well as energy retention, speed and turn wise they're middile of the pack. The later the version the better climb / top speed but worse turn.
whatever Glitched says with regards to air, LISTEN to him
You can easily engage spitfires in BnZ as depending in 109 and spit model you'll either be a bit above or at the same alt - you also are faster and retain energy better.
Yaks are tought to fight as thry essentially do all that you do, but better. Tradeoff is however that until late-ish Yak-9s and 3s they suffer at alts above around 3k meters
so avoid yaks and boom and zoom in 109s
Unless i speak on anything past 9.7, then treat it with quite a bit of salt.
ik ;)
anything past that is considered fuck off territory by me, do not fear.
on this, avoid the yak3u in ANY 109. Just dont.
hahahaha thats the prop I have the most experience in
so now I get to experience the other side :(
and what about the 190s?
i really dont have much experience in them in air, in ground they are good bomb trains but the later ones fly absolutely appallingly compared to the later 109s. I like ssome of the 4.3 ones as they feel pretty competetive to me, but really dislike the later ones.
ok thx, I will keep that in mind
please bear in mind that I am by far not the best pilot here.
yeah well at least you have flown them before ;)
Some good some bad ones
A-1, A-4 and D-9 are decent
Rest is either mediocre or just bad
A-1 has overall good performance for 3.0 paired with decent armament
A-4 is not as competetive, but it has even more powerful armament - which means that you can capitalize on opportunities easier
Antons have average - bad climb, depending in a version. The 190s main advantages are good roll rate, little compression, very strong takeoff flaps which you can abuse up to like 700kph and good firepower
Disadvantages being of course climb and turn - top speed is above average but US planes will still catch you. Turn is below average, but it's still enough to get you out of a tough spot if you know what you're doing and enemy does a missplay.
190D-9 on the other hand has quite competetive climbrate, turn still suffers, and speed is still just above average. However with the much better climbrate it avtually becomes competetive
Ofc if you have a chance 190s are a dream to BnZ in, good high speed controll, good roll rate and a lot of firepower.
That being said, stuff like A-8 and F-8 are not really good and only have chance to perform decently due to airspawn
A-5s also stay away from as they have got nerfed like 2 months back, to the point that they're even more of bricks.
