#USSR or USA?

The Su-25K is the better premium between the two, the AV-8 is sort of power creeped by the A-10s, A-6Es, and Su-25s.

If you want a premium for the US go for the A-10 or the F-5C if you have experience at 10.0 Br, if not the A-10 is the better choice for newer players.

Su-25k vs A-10 they are similar but you might have a better time in the Su-25k since it is lower BR and in my opinion has better flight characteristics and is faster than the A-10, but they are pretty comparable. It ultimately comes down to what you want to research.

# small venture Well I'm mostly not sure which tree to go down

You should probably try to research rank 1-2 for US and USSR first before deciding to buy, shouldn't be too hard to research all of rank 1 over the course of a week or two. It gives you an idea about how each nation plays for ARB props at least. They should all play relatively the same after rank 1/2 just slightly faster with more power and better firepower. That is if you are going to play props ARB which I do recommend, it's a good change of pace.

For Jets the US really only has good rank 6 and rank 8 jets in the tech tree like the Sabres, F-84s, F-80s, F2H, and obviously the F-16 and F-14.

For the USSR you have the La-15, La-200, Mig-9, 15, 21SMT, 23ML, and 29 that are good.

You might want to watch a few videos on which planes you are interested to fly for each nation. They fly differently and come with different play styles so knowing what you are getting into might be a good idea. from my experience, the USSR provides the best planes for low experience players since they perform best at low altitude and are pretty much jack of all trades in terms of performance, they turn relatively well, climb okay, are moderately fast, and have decent guns minus the ammo count. USSR also has the most planes that are good for their BR per rank.

But just getting the Su-25K or A-10 to grind to jets as your main goal might burn you out pretty fast so I recommend at least trying props, it gives you something else to do instead of grind 24/7. If you are just constantly looking at what is next in line to research you will definitely grow bored of War Thunder.

Since you are already going down Russia the su-25 might be a good choice since you don't have to grind as much and honestly I think it is the easier plane to fly and do well in.

I was asking because I'm not sure of what country is better at top tier :/

merry pier
#

I honestly find it boring to fly since it is so easy. But that is coming from a person that has played War Thunder for far too long lol.

#

They are both comparable at top tier, US is probably slightly better because of their team composition of mixed F-14s and F-16s but its pretty 50/50

#

Top tier matches snowball pretty fast so you either win or loose really quickly

#

I like the Mig-29 over the F-16 or F-14, I think it flies better. But my teams at 12.0 are a bit lacking with the influx of premium Mig-23ML players that have no clue what they are doing at 11.3 BR.

Thanks!

#

Btw, do you have the f5c?

merry pier
#

No I don't have the F-5C since I am pretty much almost done with the US Tech tree minus a few folders, but I have fought against enough of them to answer most questions. lol

small venture
#

Is it worth it lol

#

I'm kinda scared im gonna get my ass beat with it

#

watched some videos and it seems great but idk, im kinda indecisive

merry pier
#

Yeah it is worth if you put the time into learning how to fly in it. If you figure out its quirks you can do extremely well in it. Like 3 kills per match well.

#

If you want to brain off, get the A-10 or Su-25k, but if you want Brain On dopamine machine, then the F-5C is more engaging.

#

But it takes a bit of effort to fly

#

But if you fly it correctly, it is really hard to mess up.

small venture
#

I can definitely learn it, how hard is it tho?

merry pier
#

Not too hard

#

like a 20minute video and basic understanding of energy fighting Lmao

small venture
#

bruh

merry pier
#

That is all it took for my friend to get decent in it

small venture
#

ok thats kinda crazy

#

learning BnZ is probably harder

merry pier
#

I just sent him DEFYN's guide to energy fighting and then 20min video of DEFYN flying the F-5C

small venture
#

Oh yeah DEFYN is great

merry pier
#

He is my go to for ARB stuff

small venture
#

Same

merry pier
#

Yeah if you want to get into fights get the F-5C since your main way of getting kills is your guns, you can't rely on your missiles especially after the last missile nerf lately.

small venture
#

the nerf that made missiles less likely to track with afterburner off?

merry pier
#

It takes a bit more skill than pressing missile launch button for A-10 or Su-25 lol

#

they are more susceptible to flares

#

and harder to lock with no afterburner

small venture
#

ah so that one

merry pier
#

But I think they made it easier to lock through thin clouds which is good

#

You can also lock at greater ranges

#

So sorta nerf/buff

#

Makes missile combat less important though

small venture
#

Well, probably getting a F-5C

merry pier
#

Yeah it's a safe choice, just don't get too upset if you die a lot in the first like 20-30 matches

small venture
#

Probably wont too bad

#

Thanks for your help!

merry pier
#

No problem.
