#F14 Radar Problem - I can only lock targets within 9km.

my brother in christ switch off ACM mode
how do i do that?
sorry wrong pic, which one do i use tho?
have not found the one which shuts off acm mode when acquiring a lock
its either gonna be 5 1 or 7
don't hsve the game open at the moment otherwise i would tell you the keybind
1 does nothing, 5 just turns off Doppler, and 7 just turns the square lock to a vertical rectangle
no change in distance in all of them
i'll get my game open
i'm stupid, press 6, that should change it to search mode, from there you can change range, search angle
i pressed 6, but I still cant change the range for locking targets, still says 9km
yeah but is it in search mode and not acm mode?
search mode, but still within 9km
Yeah i get that I can increase the range on the search range, but when I try to radar lock the ai coming right at me, it cant acquire him, but If I use 6 (radar/irst beyond/within visual range) it gives me a solid lock
ACM is not meant for long range
imma try the other way you told me
Acm mode is for within 9km on the f14, mostly used for headons, outside of that you should be in src/src pd hdn/ or tws hdn and use your “lock radar target” bind to lock people. You can see targets after away with “change scope scale” bind or something similar to that
when not in acm mode it justs blinks and not actually get a lock on target from what im testing
in acm mode it can acquire it easily
Sorry if i sound clueless, still getting used to the radar usage
If you are using src pd hdn or acm pd you you need to have a positive or negative relative velocity to the target you are trying to maintain a lock on, this eliminates ground clutter, in src or acm the relative velocity doesn’t matter and unless there is ground clutter in the scope you will maintain a lock
No worries. If you can hop in vc I can explain better
sure
