#I-29 and XF5F

both of em suck
@autumn stirrup While I can't say much about the XF5F (since I haven't played it yet), with the I-29, I tend to climb more based on AOA (Angle of Attack) than IAS. I tend to climb at around a 10-15 degree AOA right out of spawn using its good for the BR rate of climb, since it gets an airspawn iirc. Best way to play it is to do BnZ tactics, but try not to dive to steeply for too long, as you'll suffer control stiffening around 650-700kph. While you turn better than a good chunk of aircraft at the BR (especially similar heavy fighters), it's still not recommended to turn fight with them, especially against a Zero, Spitfire, or any biplanes you come across. If you need to get into a more traditional dogfight, utilize BnZ and Energy Fighting tactics. The following link is to the I-29 on the WT Wiki that will go into more detail about the aircraft: https://wiki.warthunder.com/I-29
Ok, thank you
Quick question also, are you more into Air Arcade, or Air Realistic?
I always play realistic
Alrighty, then no difference to my tips above then xD
I was gonna say that in arcade, due to the more forgiving/simplistic flight model, you can afford to turn fight most aircraft in the I-29, but BnZ/Energy Fighting will still be the best spot to play it in regardless of the mode xP
Yeah I saw the turning radius on the I-29 its definetly not a turn fighter lol
Granted, that is better than most twin-engined aircraft, but still wouldn't recommend turn fighting a good chunk of aircraft xD
As for the XF5F, I've heard that it plays in a similar manner to the XP-50 but at a low BR. But take that with a pinch of salt, since I haven't flown the XF5F myself. I suggest looking on YT for guides on it, same goes for the I-29
