Recently, I wanted to change up my games a little and got into the russian air grind. I got myself a MiG-21s since im experienced in top tier, but I have some trouble using it in matches, I dont get much exp, or last very long against other players. Any tips from you soviet mains?

I got up to like 1k kills with it and honestly you don't have many advantages, no flares, bad missiles and bad guns. I mostly settled for climbing and firing 2 head on R3R's and then pouncing whoever was left. Rely on your engine power it has a 10.3 engine at 9.7 so don't lose your speed but i honestly had very inconsistent matches cause the guns are just really hard to aim too.
If i had the choice i would've purchased the Su25k over it
Even after all that time i just could never find my groove with it so now whenever i need to grind something russian i just use the tech tree Su25, so well... Good luck.

very good performance and if you can aim the gsh 23 easily get 2-3 kills a match

Personally, with my MiG-21 SPS-K, I've gotten most of my gun kills in deflection shots (or whatever the term is for when an aircraft flies in front of you perpendicular to your flight path, such as in a rolling scissors maneuver)

for me honestly most my kills are from using missiles only
