A5C and the A7M1 have both served me well, but it depends if you’d rather play props or jets. 10.0 gets down-tiered regularly and you have 2 free missile kills. The A7M1 is just op depending if the enemy pilot has any sense, if they try to turn with you, dead, and you have a decent enough climb rate and you can BnZ, roll rate sucks
The A5C’s greatest competitors are the F5Cs because they go slightly faster than you and can maintain it better due to your lower wing rip speed, you can’t really go past Mach 1 at sea level, but you hold energy really well and you have good acceleration, your turning capabilities suck at higher speeds but once you drop speed you are much better at turn fighting for a few runs, don’t try and maintain it against certain planes
