If you want to play on an emulator, I would recommend you to play on Gameloop emulator and on a server that has higher player base.

Gameloop has also pretty high player base and the quantity of bots are normal just like every other game, @crisp ore. If there are not enough players, the matchmaking may take longer or the match won't start. You can try unranked in that case.

If your match by language option is enabled, you may try disabling it. Match making duration depends on how many players are currently matching/playing, perspective combination and timing in your selected server, if there are not enough players, your match making time will be longer than usual.

What happened was she went AFK and got killed by another player. Metro is a sensitive game mode where you lose everything as you die. I recommend starting over and playing the mode on a secondary device where you usually do not get interrupted.
