No, it's not less. You can earn just as much from unranked as from ranked towards increasing your level. But unranked is less popular, so matchmaking can be longer. On the upside, at least for tpp solos, a match is guaranteed to start in 3:30 or less. If enough opponents not found, it starts a bot lobby
