As you know, PUBG MOBILE is a very complex game which runs on various devices all over the world and on all sorts of network scenarios (at the moment of this writing over 30,000,000 people play the game each day). With that in mind, we have obviously noticed that you have been experiencing various “lag” issues with the game (in this case, lag can mean multiple things - to some players lag means device performance, to some it means high ping, and so on) so we would like to find out more.

Previously, users were required to send recruitments privately to a moderator or administrator for review. This is no longer necessary.
From now on, you can submit a Google form intended for this purpose. Your submissions will be sent to an internal staff channel in real-time, where moderators and administrators will review recruitments at regular intervals. We have decided to update the submission procedure for #tournaments, in order to offer everyone a more efficient and straightforward process, allowing improvement of our use of human resources. Previously, users were required to send tournament details privately to a certain administrator for review. This is no longer necessary.
From now on, you can submit a Google form intended for this purpose. Your submissions will be sent to an internal staff channel in real-time, where moderators and administrators will review tournament details at regular intervals. After approval, your tournament details will automatically be announced in #tournaments. In case your tournament submission is rejected, you will be contacted privately by a staff member. We have decided to enforce a new voice channel policy. From now on, we will no longer actively monitor voice channels or accept reports of minor voice channel offenses. Members have the ability to use the built-in mute functionality for users that are disturbing. However, as for more severe offenses, we will of course act in accordance with the community guidelines. It has, at certain times, been difficult to properly moderate the voice channels and differentiate between valid and invalid reports, claims, and "witness" statements; due to lack of reasonable evidence. We received a total of 59 contributor applications. 7 out of the 59 applicants technically qualify based on the requirements. In the end, 3 candidates were selected, whereas only one out of the three candidates technically qualifies based on the requirements. They have been elected based on the quality of their content, their behavior and manner when interacting with the community, as well as their overall experience, activity and influence. The requirement of 1 000 messages in the support channels combined was publicly enforced as a part of the application requirements in order to express that we expect support activity from the applicants. However, this does not mean—as the applications also show—that applicants with more than 1 000 messages are more suited than other community members. Several factors are considered during internal evaluations and determinations. And now, it is finally time to officially announce our new community contributors:

It has been brought to our attention that certain people have misunderstood the concept of our previous contributor application recruitments. We enforced requirements for applicants (community members to send an application), not requirements to be appointed for the position. Meeting the application requirements does not, by any means, guarantee an appointment. As already remarked in this channel, applicants are elected based on the quality of their content, their behavior and manner when interacting with the community, as well as their overall experience, activity and influence. Meeting the requirements does not mean—as the previous applications also showed—that those applicants are more suited than other community members. Several factors are considered during internal evaluations and determinations. Someone with 500 messages in the support channels may be, and is apparently often, more civilized in their manner and communication compared to someone with thousands of messages, and is thus better suited to take up such a delicate support position. With regard to a specific individual many of you have been referring to and questioning our decisions on, who was not appointed; they maintained a highly inappropriate conduct when interacting with server members, which resulted in several moderation infractions during the same week, in addition to their existing moderation records—the week prior to the elections, we would like to remark. Such behavior is completely unacceptable and even the slightest doubt in this regard will result in an immediate disqualification of the candidate. Our staff members are expected to maintain an appropriate and friendly behavior when interacting with the community, not to mention that they should stay out of fights and trouble.

The most notable reason as to why our previous contributor recruitment was launched is because we needed additional assets to help provide assistance in the support channels. With the four new contributors, we currently have this part covered. However, we are always looking for dedicated community members to take on moderation duties to improve our moderation services and provide a better experience to the community, as well as to provide a wider specter of availability in terms of time zone differences. Imagine, for a moment, that we do not have any contributor role. Let us get into a time machine and travel back to the past to look at the previous situation in the server. As you most likely remember and are aware of, we had only moderators and administrators prior to the introduction of the contributor position. Moderators' main and most notable responsibility in this regard is to ensure that the community guidelines are upheld and enforced, in order to make this an as appropriate and enjoyable environment as possible for all community members alike. In addition, now as before, they do their best to answer questions in the support channels whenever they can. With the contributors that were later introduced, moderators can better focus on their main tasks while other volunteers cover the support channels to a higher degree. However, another reason why we introduced a new position was to consider it as a "training" role for potential future moderator candidates. That said, contributors are not only elected based on their support channel activity. Community members may also be appointed as a contributor instead of being appointed directly as a moderator, this to give them some more time to familiarize themselves with new responsibilities and procedures that are the fundamental aspects of higher positions.

Now, onto a matter that has been covered several times—though, perhaps, in times long forgotten indeed—following several, de facto, complaints, though also properly-asked and polite, not to mention legitimate, questions, in regard to nominations of new community contributors and other staff positions. In this sense, we would like to remind but a single, though, nevertheless, very important, point: there is a great difference between "being acknowledged" and being awarded the title of community contributor. The meaning of this recognition does not correspond to being a well-behaved community member, even worse if in exchange for something: I would resign and leave at once rather than regarding any fellow mature—which, I would like to remind, is a quality not tethered to physical age in any way—community member like a child and, subsequently, this title as a candy. But, unfortunately, though predictably, with our greatest disappointment, there have been several instances throughout the times of people claiming—de facto demanding—rewards for having done nothing but what they are normally, considering the whole concept of online communities and users, supposed to. Community members should do what they are doing for vocation and passion, not for getting powers and rewards. There is no place for any kinds of do ut des mentalities here; otherwise, most users should then be "acknowledged", meaning that even the slightest contribution can be taken as a reason for someone to be "rewarded". This is due to a mere comparison between the previous "nothing" and the current "something". If everyone who tries to be active in the support channels were to be assigned a staff position, said position would lose its meaning.

We understand the fact that one, however, would also like to be "recognized" in doing so. We share it even: in fact, we can assure any concerned community member that we see and notice even the tiniest detail which, nevertheless, constitutes the unmistakable proof of one's passion for the community, and we do keep that in mind, even if you think it is something that will simply go unnoticed, even if it is "overlooked" by other fellow members. Always remember that. However, the thread standing between doing something for passion and because one enjoys being part of the community and the rise of a mentality uniquely voted to the do ut des is extremely thin. And it is so very easy to cross the border indeed; it takes but a faint breeze's push to cause an almost unnoticeable and yet so drastic and destructive change. Hence, we are thus forced to be extremely "prudent". And it has to be this way, particularly because it is the only one that allows to actually differentiate an inspired community member from one only seeking rewards and powers. Patience is what the latter always lacks: because their actions are merely dictated by interested ambitions. Because patience is a quality of the truly inspired, and thus a privilege of the very few. And it is in fact patience that ultimately constitutes, and will always constitute, the decisive aspect in any such nominations. Any complaints as a result of not being appointed for a position clearly prove that our judgement regarding that selected community member in the end was for the greater good.
Despite of being undoubtedly certain of the genuine intentions that led to these discussions, reality is something that must be reckoned with; and, unfortunately, as some messages sent in the server clearly prelude to, this topic would only lead to flaming, discussions and personal attacks. You'll be asked to share your feedback regarding various topics surrounding PUBGM including existing and conceptual gameplay features, events, artwork and more. This will consist mostly of multiple-choice polls and occasional written response questions but may also include separate paid longer-form surveys and playtests.

We all know that you have shared different types of feedback regarding the communication between the community team and the Discord community itself. Our community managers are amazing people who do their best every single day to make community operations run smoothly. It may seem to you like they are not doing anything here. Have you ever heard of the expression that someone is "building cities behind the curtain"? That is the true case here. Most of the community managers' tasks are based on this principle. Let us imagine getting stuck with no community team for a week. Things that most people take for granted would be questioned: why are there no announcements; why are the social media channels not updated with entertaining content; why are there no patch notes; why does the website contain information from version 0.10.0 when the current version is 0.14.5; why are there no community events; where is all the information that I see every week?! If it had not been for the community team, you would not have been kept in the loop of anything that you see on our official community resources on a daily basis. These are only some of their daily tasks, and this field of work takes a lot of time.
Just as there are different tasks and responsibilities within a development team, so are there among a community team. Unfortunately, not all community managers have the required time to sit back, relax, and just talk with us. In case you did not know, we do have developers and community operations staff lurking in our server from time to time; reading and taking notes of what we are discussing. This may just be hard for you to believe because you do not see any active and alive front-end communication source. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what this announcement is all about. Allow us the pleasure of welcoming @faint steppe! Moving forward, Butterfly's main responsibility in our Discord community will be to communicate directly with players, gather feedback and forward useful information to the respective teams. If you happen to have a question, some feedback, or just want to have a conversation; feel free to reach out to her. You have probably heard several times that you should never mention the community team. Butterfly is the exception. However, please understand that she is not a developer. The community team is therefore unable to assist with players' game issues, such as account suspensions. These types of concerns should be addressed with the customer service. Additionally, she does not possibly have an answer to every single question. Certain questions can only be answered by the developers, while other questions cannot be answered at the current time due to confidentiality. Moderation is also not on her list of duties. For any moderation related cases, such as reports on server members, please contact a moderator or an administrator.

You may have noticed a significant increase in people coming here and complaining about suspended accounts after the recent fair play and suspension notices. We have been strengthening our efforts to combat cheaters every day, and will have additional news in the following weeks. A suspension is not applied to an account without a proper reason. Affected players have only one option; wait until the punishment automatically expires, that is. Any and all questions in this regard can be sent to the customer service via the File Claim button which is located in the bottom-right corner of the account suspension dialog box. As our zero tolerance policy towards cheating activities applies also here in our Discord server, we will permanently terminate members' access to participate in the server in the event of repeated asking and/or discussion of an account suspension after having been redirected to the customer service.

Your Discord profile is yours and members should be free to choose and customize their username according to their liking, of course within certain limits covered by what one would normally call common sense, shortly summarized as being nice and kind towards other people. Restrictions beyond this are imposed only with the community in mind, to maintain order, not just for the sake of it or to be insupportable. Usernames containing only special characters used to be disallowed, as per subpoint 1.11 of the #613267301243944960. The reason behind this is that such usernames are often uncomfortable for the eyes and distract members while engaging in conversations. While it is hard to come up with a wording that appeals to most situations, this was the formulation we settled on. However, based on own observations as well as the community's feedback in this regard, we have decided to change the formulation to instead prohibit excessive usage of special characters in usernames. This should more accurately represent what we actually mean. Whereas we do not mind members having usernames such as ._. and 𝙈𝘿𝘾, something like ☆*༻۰۰۪۫۰۰۪۫༺*☆ will be more problematic. Keep in mind that approval and adjustment of nicknames is still ultimately up to us to decide. If we deem a username disturbing to fellow community members, we reserve the right to assign a nickname at our discretion. Otherwise, you are free to have any username as you please, provided that it complies with our community standards. Always feel free to ask us should you require clarification on a matter.

As server boosters pay to unlock perks, we felt that the previous structure was too limited. Members may either unlock perks for free over a period of time, or immediately and temporarily by boosting the server. During the next 30 days, we will let the previous self-assignable roles remain, and they will not be assigned to—or removed from—profiles. If the self-assignable role system will not make a return, all the relevant roles will be removed. Whether the language roles should remain invisible until a certain level role is reached, will be determined later. If you do not wish to see certain emulator or language channels, you may mute them and enable the server setting option to hide muted channels.

Based on some of our observations—as well as the community's feedback—after these changes, we have decided to archive the language channels and instead encourage you to join our regional communities to converse in your native language. We are unfortunately unable to provide the same experience as these communities can, including moderation. Additionally, we have reverted the need to obtain a role to access the emulator channels. This time, instead of reacting in #735483472432594994, you may now send .emulator in #481204134859505684 if you are interested in viewing (or no longer viewing) the aforementioned channels.

As you may have noticed, we recently made some changes. Here are the most notable ones:
▫️ The emulator channels have been archived. As PUBG MOBILE is an independent mobile game, they were an unofficial part of the server. In the beginning, years back, they were helpful to address emulator-related inquiries in a separate section of the server, to avoid that the other channels were filled up with such content. However, in the recent months (and, yes, year), the activity in these channels kept decreasing to the point that we feel it is more beneficial to redirect these emulator matters to the respective platform instead.
▫️ Rythm and other Discord music bots are discontinuing their service for legal reasons. As we are a business and an official community, we are not willing to take any liability risks by replacing them with similar services. Instead, we recommend you to use authorized music platforms.
▫️ As we are promoting the Discord server to new players in-game, some channel and category changes have been applied to improve the user experience of new members, and to make the server theme even more PUBG MOBILE-focused. While some old users may feel that the changes are strange, you will get used to them in no time.
▫️ To offer a few more off-topic activities, we introduced the entertainment category. The most interesting part is maybe #888036262739591178 which will feature popular comments from the server. React with ⭐ 10 times to boost a message to said channel. #888052693489320036 is the fun and endless counting game as you know it. #888036319559831622 will have some exciting activities soon. If you are a #memes lover, there is now a channel for that as well. We welcome suggestions for other activities that can be added to this category.
▫️ As per some community feedback, we changed the Survivor role from a level role to a community role. This means it will no longer be automatically assigned upon reaching level 100. You can contact us in #discord to claim the role when you are eligible for it.
▫️ There are no longer restrictions on where you can earn experience points. Send messages in any channel to have them count towards your level.
▫️ We have tried to make the roles section in #735483472432594994 more clear. For example, you will now clearly see where you can react, send links and attach files by default (when you do not have a level role).
▫️ #find-players is now #activities to better reflect the purpose of the channel.
▫️ For those who cannot always use their microphone during voice conversations, #888036028772933642 is now at your disposal while using #481226672193011712 and #501026392557748238. It is not enabled for the private/restricted voice channels in order to protect your privacy.

Our goal with the channel is to increase the awareness of our activity on this front. When reporting content through https://bit.ly/3soBavK, you will already be able to follow the status of your report in a spreadsheet that contains more details (https://bit.ly/3tXs2hQ), but not everyone knows about this. Every single day, we remove hundreds of online content pieces that promote PUBG MOBILE cheating, so we want to use this channel as a more accessible method to show you that we take this situation very seriously. Fun fact: On October 11, we started recording how many views each removed YouTube video had. In just 2 days, we removed videos with a total of 13 million views. You can find more details in the status spreadsheet referenced above.

The channel will automatically feature appeal e-mails as they are received in real time. E-mail addresses and certain (phone) numbers will be censored.
A random emoji reaction from a predefined list will be added to each message. You may start threads on messages should you wish to make any comments.
Watch examples of cheaters reacting to how our online cheating content removal efforts are affecting them, and let us know your thoughts and favorites!

We have noticed a pattern of members mentioning @hollow thorn in (private) threads to ensure that their message activity is counted in said threads.
In light of that, we would like to clarify that @hollow thorn, @final carbon and @flint harness automatically have access to all threads.
This means that even though you might not see them in the online list, they still catch your messages for the logs and activity leaderboard.
Refer to the attached video recording for a demonstrative example showing that @final carbon still logged a deleted message despite of being invisible in the online list.
To summarize, you do not need to feel the need to invite these bots to threads. This bot behavior is the same for threads as it is for channels.
