So I don't know if I'm nitpicking but something feels a bit off about the in-game wood bison model

Namely that the horns on the diamond seem quite curvy and that the head is a bit small in comparison to the body

The spine also doesn't seem as straight as it should be but that could just be the individual

So, while this isn't as big a priority as other animals like the grizzly or lion, I think having an artist touch it up a little would be nice.

Also, while we're at it, please use this model to remaster the other two bison for Christ's sakes

Those models are actually terrible.

Good idea to make it more realistic. This in mind, why would you want to use a wood bison model to replace European bison and plains bison?

They meant to use the wood bison model and adjust it to make plains and european bison models :)

Yeah they're so similar that you can just take the model and change it around a bit

Looking at the ranges of different subspecies - the Central European Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hippelaphus) is the red deer found in Hirschfelden (native in central Europe), Parque Fernando (introduced in Argentina), Te Awaroa (introduced in New Zealand), and Emerald Coast (introduced in Australia) - I'm seeing some manes on these guys but they're not massive like they were in the old model

The Spanish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hispanicus) is the red deer found in Cuatro Colinas (native to Spain) - these do not have manes.

The Scottish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus scoticus) is the red deer found in Torr (native to Scotland) - small manes that match the current model

#

okay looking on iNaturalist apparently the taxonomy is C. e. scoticus, C. e. hippelaphus, C. e. hispanicus, and C. e. atlanticus - all come under European red deer C. e. elaphus

#

I've heard from someone in this server that only old big bucks of certain subspecies get long manes like the old model, they usually only get short ones like the new model

Some better horn examples as it looks like the individual in the photo you used has a damaged or intentionally altered horn

Thx

I'm sure the creators poured over references tho

You yourself stated the horns are too curvy, to which I agree and showed references to how they should be, I have a gut feeling that they mainly looked at quartering angles and not proper profiles as all profile images have nowhere near the curve shown on the in game models
