Same for me. Soooooo many trophies. I'm at 137 hours for haggis and probably 150-160 total on Scotland. I've not touched Haggis in 2 days. Been taking a break to not get burnt out. Having a blast though re-searching my other maps for initial spawns. Found a female lecuistic Cape Buffalo earlier today.

They did seem to mostly fix the bug where it wouldn't track when you told it to.

Bloodhound has a perk/skill that makes them stay on task better. Sort of works...I just think it's more of a bug than anything though.

We only have the 2 variations of warning calls, which are both bagpipes and different parts of the song Scotland the Brave. Mel wasn't able to get a recording of the Mating call, and have had no recordings of the "screech" call.

To be fair, the community having 30+ at this point is kinda crazy. I doubt we were even supposed to know about them or have more than 1 or 2 right now lol. I bet it was supposed to be a slow roll and we would start seeing a bunch 2-3 months in lol.

Has anyone thought the Haggis could be the equivalent of a Great One for non-grinders? What if the references to two and time could mean hunting for two days straight (day and night) without resetting the time before one spawns? After two days without sleep one tends to be a bit delusional. This is something casual players and non-grinders would do.

Yep, has been discussed and tested and ruled out. People have ran their game for several days without turning it off to try that lol. Also, people that have gotten them have gotten them 30 minutes to 2-3 hours into the new map. So it's definitely not that.

Honestly though, I wouldn't go as crazy trying to find it as a bunch of us have. Most people have stumbled on them not actively searching for them. Just do at least Mission #2 and hunt around the upper 2/3 of your map normally and pickup all tracks and zones that you see. Check every call. Just enjoy the map and hope to get lucky.

We've got 99% of the information on them at this point, and gathering more daily. Only thing we will never know is the spawn mechanic. So going nuts trying to figure that out is counter productive at this point.

With 30+ the race will be on soon, if not already, for #2. Meanwhile I'm content just roaming around. I just got within 11 yards of my 2nd dime red fox this week (and my 7th dime in a week). Thought I'd share this as some side encouragement as your search continues. A lot of really good, heart pumping moments out there to be had. OK...I'll dimish again. Keep on hunting!

Awesome! I've gotten so many rares and dimes and just cool trophies searching for them. I truly think just enjoying the map and focusing on areas where they've been found is the best way. Otherwise you'll burn out like me lol.

I think I'm up to like 18-20 trophies at this point and that's all just been found roaming the map searching for Haggis and a Dime or Rare Woodcock lol.

Only being one, I think so too. That and you can't grind for them. I do however like G1 the way they are. If you couldn't grind for them, and since they took initial spawns away...nobody would ever get them and people would quit playing the game.

I do think the devs have reached a really good balance on everything though. I'm not a huge fan of some the spawn and spook mechanics they changed a while back, but I adjusted and it's not too bad. The new maps, species, G1s, remodels, etc...have all been bangers!

The thing about my theory is that #2 could refer to the 2nd haggis dish which you make yourself in the “eat your hat” mission… which ironically unlocks the Benelli. However; it is purchasable prior to unlocking but cost ingame money. First gun in the game not named after a developer (unless anyone in here knows of others)… also; the haunted house could be just a clue and not directly help with spawning the haggis; basically 2 shots… again with the 2 and the benelhag in the room as well as all the materials you would need to make haggis bate (dead deer and I’m sure some turnips and potatoes in there as well) basically referencing the “eat your hat” mission. I honestly don’t know how it would work to spawn a haggis but it’s the best clues we got in my opinion… so; I’d rather be wrong and using the Benny or atleast have it in my inventory unlocked; than to be right and not have it on me the entire time I’m out looking for the haggis 🤷‍♂️

Watched your vid and love the theory, but honestly we've gone over that in here several times. We've asked people that have found them and some didn't even have the shotgun unlocked, missions started, and had only been 30 minutes into their map.

So my best theory is that all of the missions give clues, but are not the trigger for the "New spawn mechanic". The reason Vivi's poem as well as other clues have eluded to MISSION and #2 are that it is the Haggis mission which does reward the Benelhag, and it leads you into "Haggis territory". At the end of Mission #2 you cross the water-line and have the Benelhag. I've studied all of the dialogue as well and it's laden with clues such as. "Now you have all you need to find a Haggis"(close enough to the dialogue). Missions are loaded with clues. I personally thinkg just crossing the water-line border is the new spawn mechanic.

So while it's not a mission animal, and not triggered by Mission #2...I think it's a safe bet to do the missions at least up to that point and search using the map I've made with all of the efforts of the community provided on it. Everyone should just stop focusing on the spawn trigger(because the devs will never tell us even if we're right), and just hunt the Haggis hotspots for other animals normally and hope to get lucky. Pick up every call and track, and need zone on your way. Just my 2 cents from info gathered with the community.

Well, I'm puttin the Benelhag in the loadout and hitting the grouse/hare grind again, and who knows, maybe I/we were right a week ago?

I agree with @idle lintel, if it's nothing, than having it in the loadout won't hurt anything, but if it IS something, I'd rather have tried it than spend another 150 hours looking for nothing.

G1 wolf grind? Not even a rare or a diamond

G1 boar? Even gold is rare for me

Foxes? First female gold not too long ago and it barely made the cut

I've considered this, but Mel when she studied it said that they had to leave the map several times, even exited the game and it remained in the same spot. I do believe it has home ranges though similar to tigers. We know it Feeds>Travels>Feeds>Travels from her observations as well. That it doesn't go very far in doing so and even had 2 feed times on one of her zones.

If you're wanting more dimes on grinds, should definitely learn how to do a proper HM. Rares, they just come with time. I'd say on my grinds I'll average a rare every 200-300 kills. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

It works no matter what you do. It doesn't affect G1 spawns, but 100% gets you significantly increased dime rates. It's not as difficult as it seems either. To put it simply, just shoot big animals leave small ones. The small ones make bigger ones spawn in. Easy as that. Animals that go to lvl 9, leave 4's and below. Animals that go to lvl 5, leave 2's and below. Animals that go to lvl 3, leave small weight and trophy estimate 2's and 1's(for example spike rack WT with 150 or lower estimate).

There's more intracicies to really hone in your HM, like stacking and shooting down exteriors, but just doing what I said above will definitely increase your dime rates.

they pretty easy to find go about 7am in morning on top outposts and look out towers you will find a few in those areas

Yep, several have said so. That's why I truly believe that Mission #2 leading you across the border into the north(haggis territory) is the only trigger. Whether you do it from missions, or just on your own.

I think those 2 conditions, are your safest bet. Do mission #2 and head north. Just hunt normally, but do it in the areas they have been found. Check every call, track, zone, that you find. We'll never know what the spawn mechanic is. The devs wouldn't tell us if we got it right even lol.

Yep, for sure on that. We just don't know what spawns them in initially. The devs have also hinted that they respawn, so you can get more than 1...but only ever 1 on the map at a time.

I imagine that it could have possibly been taken from actual fur types they could have. The albino may be legit(meaning in the game not the one killed). They have a dime rating. So rares aren't out of the question, nor is a SR. It's 100000000% modded though.

Nah, go watch @still holly's video where she studied one. They Feed>Travel>Feed>Travel all within a certain area. They have feed times all day and night in 2 hour windows and can even have different feed times on the same zone.

Have you tried the shooting grouse with the shotgun from the map theory yet? I was just running around the map shooting grouse with it and any other class 1 animal I could find. I just got the retriever so I was working on leveling it up.

Yep, that's actually the majority of what I did. I've got a mela red grouse so far, and about 100 golds of each red and black grouse with no dime of either. Also got a dime and albino Hare while searching them. All with the Benelhag shotgun. I honestly don't think it's the trigger, but have been doing it anyway.
