i think the definition of mission animal is being used very loosely, most mission animals are given to you directly. I think its still technically a "mission" animal but isnt handed to you, instead it just triggers the spawn mechanic.

My running theory now is that yours when spawned in can get just one of the feed times. Then for the other 22 hours roams the map. This isn't confirmed, makes sense though. I had originally guessed they Trave>Feed>Travel>Feed....but if that were the case we would've had more found by now.

I did the Keen Eye skill until it stopped working at each of the following lookouts in the mountain areas: Grundy Point, Crow Crown, Monarch's Peak, and Mt. Bawbag and none of them revealed a Wild Haggis feed zone. So, I think for that idea, it's not going to help you find a zone unless you're lucky and have one in that 400m area.

This mission is buggy as many people have reported. Follow all the tracks, wait for the dialgoue to prompt you to spot it and shoot it. If you can't shoot it out of the tree, try exiting the game and coming back in. That has worked for most people.

My current running theory is that it has all the times listed in the pinned comment for feeding. Before I kinda though maybe it had multiple feed zones and would Feed>Travel>Feed>Travel. I think now that it only gets one of those feed times, let's say 10-12 is the most common found so far. That it feeds during that time and roams the rest of the time. Otherwise more would have been found from tracks and feed zones by now if they had multiple.

We're not lol. It's quite possible, but my opinion on it is once they're on the map, they're on the map. I mean they roam the hillsides(not steep the rolling hills in grassy areas we've seen all of them taken), that's just in their lore period. So I think they eat for 2 hours, then roam 22 hours.

Oh and now that the video is out I can say what I've not said yet and been working on for days. So I don't think missions, including mission #2 spawns in the Haggis. I think all of the missions give you clues.

There's clocks(tiiiiiiiiime) on the walls in the kitchen during mission #2, clocks only in the outposts that are in Haggis Territory that work(and are synced with the in game clock). At outposts in Haggis territory there's torn bags of crisps and cheese(part of mission dialogue to use for haggis bait), but the ones not in Haggis territory are not torn. There's bagpipes(haggis caller) in one out the outposts in Haggis territory but not other areas.

I think every bit of dialogue from the missions, the podcaster....all just clues. NOT what spawns it in imho.

I was looking at the numbers in the message vivi posted (using the 60 and 10) - 60 is LX and 10 is X iirc

but that made no sense

and thats what i think, but these clues connect into a bigger picture definitely. theres lot of dialogue that mentions the haggis during the story
