I dont hunt them normally, mostly bc at the time i was using .22-250 and its terrible for 3s but i swapped to .243 which is a lot better

I've used the 243 basically since I started playing for those classes, but recently switched to the 257 from recommendations here and it's hands down the best.

I switched to the Quist and the Vallgardas because I can cover 2-9 with two weapons.

twice = haggis has a chance of respawning instead of that animal

I think because of where we found it, it might only have a chance of spawning if its a class 1 or 2 animal youve shot

Ive been non stop scrolling folklore related to haggis and landmarks on the map

Yeah, that's awesome for that. I use pack mule perk. I can carry a Zarza 22(class 1), a 257(2-6), a Zarza 308(4-8), and a Arzyna 300(7-9). So every class in the game is covered. Along with that I can carry both day and night binos. Day and night scopes. Scent spray, and a tent. Which also leaves room for whatever species you're hunting's caller. Not only that you have a tent with you always if you need anything else. Birds I sometimes will switch to a shotgun loadout, but honestly I'm good at hitting flying birds with the 22.

the new “mechanic” could just be, its already here, and we have to use the mission dialogues, and landmarks, to piece haggis folklore, and find where it emerges from to come out and eat, the pipers pit mission tells me, that the haggis is hiding underground, per the bagpipe noise heard all day that apparently “stops at night fall” and returns when the moon is “full in the sky”

The I's point to 10, 11 or 12:10 which is all around when people have shot them

but also at 2am the wind flows south towards the moon, and the wind going through stones is supposed to be how haggis speak to eachother btwww and the moon picture they posted seems like the haggis emerges at 2am to find some stones to listen to beautiful sounds from and it follows the wind around mountains toward the moon.. maybe we have to hit outposts at 2am till we hear that screech and then follow the wind to the moon to find our haggis?

I still think this is tied to the standing stones somehow. The standing stones have in their description about it being "Unknown it's original purpose but it's a great place to gaze at the moon". The pic vivi posted though on the opposite side of the marsh from the stones up on a hill. Circled in this pic is where the pic was taken.

I reverse engineered it lol. I used the marsh, the clouds, the moon position, and the mountains in the background and literally found it within a few feet of where it was taken.

It's tied in somehow I really do think. Problem is I don't think they're nocturnal. I think everything in the codex for them is opposite.

Nocturnal(most certainly)....all have been killed in day.

Solitary(probably)....this one throws me off. Maybe there's more than one. It's been hinted at.

I set my time to 5 and ran around EVERY mountain until 20 in game time, no signs of a haggis. So now searching specifically for haggis im at about 12 hours irl. I think it’s rng if it’s even on ur map or not. I’m going to start main menu more often to see if that’s true on how they spawn, wish me luck.

• I didnt really hear anything because I rode my ATV around for the checkpoints.
• The only thing I did that might not be considered normal was hunting badgers a lot. I tracked a lot of them for long distances from their burrows to their feed zones.

I dont think so? My current theory is that you have a chance to spawn it by spotting tracks, spotting with binoculars, or investigating sounds AFTER completing the first two missions.

Very similar to what I've been doing, but with all those consecutive feed times Basically from 6-19 back to back, I believe they are constantly on the move from feed zone to feed zone only eating for a short time and traveling the rest of the time. Although, youd think with multiple feed zones they'd be easier to find tracks so I dunno. Maybe each one only has 1 feed time and travel the entire rest of the time which would make more sense.

Don't know if it'd work, but yesterday OK-Reporter, and Mel had great theory about callers. The mission for making bait for the Haggis has you kill a Red Deer...so a red deer caller might be a decent idea to try.

Was just discussing this with a friend and I think I've got a solid idea on something. So we have seen **6-8, 8-10, 10-12, 14-16, and 16-19 **feed times right? My original thought was they have all of those feed times and Feed>Travel>Feed>Travel. If they did though, we'd find A LOT more tracks and zones. I think when yours spawns in it only gets 1 of those feed times and eats for 2-3 hours in that window and the other 22 hours it's roaming the map Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise depending on it's leg type.

Okay, the theory I'm testing right now is to unlock the Keen Eye skill in the Ambusher Tier 4 section, and then constantly activate the skill from the outpost, close the game to reset the cooldown, and do it again, repeating this until the Keen Eye doesn't locate any further zones from that lookout. It takes a LONG time, and all in the hope that it unlocks a Haggis feed zone. LOL
