#Shooting sticks, and rests

You say you want Call of the Wild to be as realistic as possible — then let’s get realistic about shooting positions and recoil. In real life, competent hunters don’t stand and pray. They use supports: shooting sticks, monopods, tripods, bipods or a rail in a blind. Those supports don’t just “help a little” — they massively reduce human error under adrenaline, steady the crosshair for long-range shots, and let the shooter account for recoil and follow-ups.

In-game, the character sway often feels excessive even when crouched or braced, and there’s no equipment option that meaningfully replicates a shooter-rest. We already have perks like Steady Hands, and players use skills and tactics to mitigate wobble — but equipment-based steadies would add both realism and skill depth. A simple tripod/monopod/shooting stick system would:

Lower aim sway while deployed, with diminishing returns depending on the rest type (tripod > bipod > shooting sticks > hand-rest).

Add tactical tradeoffs: deployed rests make you mostly immobile (can rotate slowly but can’t sprint), increase setup time, and are visible on the ground if you abandon them.

Tie into weight & fatigue: carrying a heavy tripod or multiple rests should affect sprint speed and stealth (more weight = louder footsteps and slower stamina recovery), while a light carbon monopod would be stealthier but less stable.

Affect sound and hunting pressure: using a rest should reduce the need for loud follow-up shots (fewer misses), lower wound distance and animal alarm, and generally reduce generated “hunting pressure” because hunts are cleaner.

Implementing rests would be both authentic and fun. It rewards preparation (bring the right kit), improves long-range gameplay, and reduces the feel of RNG wobble. If realism is the goal, please add shooting sticks, bipods, and a deployable tripod system with sensible weight, sound and mobility tradeoffs — not just another cosmetic item, but a genuine gameplay mechanic.

I would be happy if the bullet hitting the ground bug would be fixed, if you shoot laying on the ground. Shooting sticks would be a further step

After perks "Steady hands" and "Recoil management" the problem is gone. It's good for grind with Arzyna .300 but not good for the feel of real hunt. 7mm-08 at the hunter classic has a bipod. It's really cool.
