#BACKFILL

LAYTON
Mountain Lion Class 5: One of the most prominent game species in Washington, it would certainly add a sense of danger that Layton is currently lacking
Wood Duck Class 1: Some extra waterfowl that would help diversify the bird hunting on the map
North American Beaver Class 2: Beavers would go a long way in helping to flesh out the abundant water sources and marshes on the map
HIRSCHFELDEN
Grey Wolf Class 6: Wolves are a hugely important animal in Europe historically and it’d be nice to see grey wolves somewhere other than the snow in this game.
Eurasian Badger Class 2: I’ve seen badgers be a pretty highly requested species in the community and was hoping they would be added with Salz. They’d do great to bump up the small game hunting for Hirsch.
i would change the wolf for the mouflon wolf dont realy fit hirsch
There’s a shockingly low amount of wolves in modern Germany. I agree
at some point they were hunted to extincition now they slowy make a comeback
MEDVED
Black Grouse Class 1: One of my personal favourite birds in the game and I feel it’d pair well with the capercaillie.
Siberian Roe Deer Class 3: A better choice for backfilling, roe deer would pair well with lynx and musk deer to help better round out class 2-3 on Medved.
Siberian Tiger Class 1: Maybe a controversial one but I’d love to have a very limited number of Siberian Tigers on the map similar to snow leopards on sundarpatan.
VURHONGA
Spotted Hyena Class 6: Another heavily requested animal, the hyena would help Vurhonga feel more dangerous in partnership with lions and cape buffalo.
Cape Shelduck Class 1: Some waterfowl would be great on Vurhonga asides from the eurasian widgeon as it feels somewhat out of place on the map.
Where medved is set vs where tiger live
PARQUE
Pampas Deer Class 3: Pampas deer would add authenticity to Parque Fernando by representing a native species that thrives in open grasslands, contrasting with the non-native axis deer.
Patagonian Mara Class 1: A new small game animal is something Parque desperately needs to help fix the somewhat empty feeling it has.
Instead of Tiger I'd like to see Wolverine for Taiga
Hell, Id even take roe deer and mountain hare over tiger.
Siberian Roe Deer would be so wonderful.
Yeah, medved is really missing that inbetween big and small game.
YUKON
Willow Ptarmigan Class 1: The fact that Yukon Valley doesn’t already have Alaskas state bird is pretty unfortunate.
Wolverine Class 2: Wolverine would be a very aggressive animal that would help liven up the small to mid game.
Canadian Lynx Class 3: Another Alaskan staple missing from the map is the lynx. That would fit well on the Northern half of the map.
100% agreed
CUATRO
Iberian Lynx Class 3: One of Spains more notable animals, I feel it’d do well to give Cuatro a little more depth to it.
Turtle Dove Class 1: Yet another staple hunting species in Spain is the turtle dove. Spain is notorious for their dove hunting.
SILVER RIDGE PEAKS
Sage Grouse Class 1: SRP is super lacking in the small game department and sage grouse could help start to mend this problem.
American Badger: Another small game species that SRP desperately needs.
TE AWAROA
Himalayan Tahr Class 4: Despite being one of NZ’s most popular huntable species and already being in the game, tahr still aren’t a part of Te. This makes them an obvious choice for backfilling.
Feral Sheep Class 4: Similar to feral goat and hog, feral sheep would fit well with Te Awaroa’s theme of culling invasive species in the name of conservation.
RANCHO
Nine Banded Armadillo Class 1: A real missed opportunity not including these in Rancho on release, armadillo would be a great small game addition.
Plains Bison Class 9: Plains bison habitat range extends all the way into northern Mexico and would absolutely benefit the reserve as currently Rancho doesn’t get any bigger than class 5.
Instead of Bison, they totally should've added Nilgai (they're actually found in Northern Mexico!)
MISSISSIPPI ACRES
Mallard Class 1: With Mississippi being one of the best waterfowl places in the world, it’s somewhat shocking to me that EW wouldn’t add mallards, a staple of Bayou duck hunting.
Gadwall Class 1: Another in game waterfowl, I don’t see why EW wouldn’t be able to add Gadwall into the reserve. It feels weird not having many duck species considering the reserve has so much water.
REVONTULI COAST
Wolverine Class 2: Wolverines would enhance Revontuli Coast by introducing a rare and elusive predator native to the Nordic region, adding challenge and diversity to the reserve’s ecosystem.
Saimaa Ringed Seal Class 3: Seal hunting is something I see requested in this community a lot, and I feel that the many islands and rock beaches on the southern portion of the map would be a great place to try it out.
NEW ENGLAND MOUNTAINS
North American Porcupine Class 2: Porcupines would fit well in New England Mountains, as they are native to the northeastern U.S., adding variety to the ecosystem while providing a unique, more passive target for hunters.
North American Beaver: Due to how NEM is structured, a lot of the focus is on hunting the rivers that wrap around the reserve, and I feel that adding beavers (and dams) would be a great addition the the map.
EMERALD COAST
Dingo Class 3: Since EC was announced dingo have been one of, if not the most requested animal for the reserve.
Feral Camel Class 8: Yet another widely requested animal, the abundance of feral camel in Australia provides a unique opportunity for EW to add.
Magpie Class 1: Although EC is one of the most lively and well rounded maps in the game, it is somewhat lacking in small game hunting.
SUNDARPATAN
Wild Boar Class 5: Wild boar are a huge ecological issue in Nepal as populations have been increasing uncontrollably. It would fit EW’s agenda of pushing for hunting as a conservation tool to add wild boar.
Peafowl Class 1: With peafowl being one of the most iconic species of the Indian subcontinent, it’s rather surprising that they’re absent from Sundarpatan as the reserve is somewhat lacking in the bird department.
I personally think that top priority animals for Vurhonga should be things like Impala, Greater Kudu (to replace lesser kudu maybe) and other commonly hunted big game
SALZWIESEN PARK
Roe Deer Class 3: Deer are the most popular species in the game by far, however species like fallow and red deer don’t really fit the reserves small game theme.
Eurasian Badger Class 2: Another small game species that fits with the theme of Salzwiesen, and an iconic european species.
Yeah that was rather dumb. I don’t know why but I thought Medved was further south. I’ll change that to roe deer
I didn’t know that! I like that idea a lot more as bison were a fair bit too far North for Rancho IMO, but I couldn’t find any better examples for some truly big game
Bison are fine
Yeah I can see that. But I have high hopes in EW to add these sorts of species in the upcoming Africa 2.0 update most likely coming out this year and feel that it’s important to have things that keep Vurhonga unique
There’s also black bear, jaguar, and tins of upland birds
Cuatro needs Fallow deer too. And Sundarpatan needs Sambar and Hog deer
Parque Fernando does not really have the kind of habitat that Maras and Pampas Deer like
If you want native species that could fit
The Culpeo Fox (Class 2) is a large fox species that will occasionally hunt prey as large as domestic sheep and young guanaco
And speaking of Guanaco (Class 6), they can be hunted in parts of Southern Argentina (Patagonia)
Rusa Deer do not live in Nepal
Hog Deer do live in Nepal and so do Axis Deer
Rusa Deer are native to Indonesia
👍
what about mouflon instand of wolf?
Yeah I think mouflon could fit really well on hirsch, specifically in the mountains in the northwest
I don’t know how I overlooked that, it’s criminal that fallow aren’t on cuatro already
I know! I think they could reduce a lot of the Ibex, make them more of a challenge and Fallow could be in the lowlands
The only reason I disagree with having Siberian Tigers on Medved is that it is quite literally on the opposite side of the Asian continent from the nearest population of Siberian Tigers. It’s several thousand kilometers away.
Nilgai are only found in a small portion of Northeastern Mexico, in Tamaulipas and Monterrey states. Rancho is set in Sonora, in the Northwest of Mexico.
Bison on the other hand are found in Sonora, on several ranches who allow hunting. There’s over 500 free range bison on ranches throughout the state.
Wolverine should be level 3 if raccoon dog is level 2
Wolverines typically max out at around 18kg, while the smallest class 3 animal has a max weight of 31kg
And they are pretty infamous for being tough buggers.
