SO PLS FIX THE GUN

I love using the Curman. It's an incredibly satisfying weapon to operate, especially in the sound department, but the zeroing distances and the fact that it's worse than a .243 for moose really bugs me

Yeah I know, I covered that in the post that I linked above
It makes the gun feel hard to justify when the Hudzik can zero to 100-150-200, while the Curman has 75-100-150

ye i hope they will ever fix it

Hello Hunters,

Thanks for sharing your feedback about the Curman .50 inline. We can understand the frustration with the zeroing distances and how it compares to other weapons, especially when it feels underperforming for certain animals. A 200m zeroing distance would definitely help balance its usefulness and make it a more viable option for hunting larger game.

I’ll be sure to pass this along to the rest of the team! If you have more ideas or further feedback, feel free to reach out via our support portal: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

Folks, muzzleloaders have never been designed as long range weapons in the modern sense. Sure, you have a few companies starting to make high tech muzzleloaders for that purpose, but it defeats the point of the weapon and why use one then if you can just use your regular deer rifle and have three or four more shots to go with it?

The Curman works just fine, and I have no issues taking black bears, caribou, and moose with it. Elevate it a bit if you insist on taking long range pot shots.

@odd hearth you haven't tried the 6.5mm on Moose, have you?

I haven't, I'll have to look at that

Just tested, here's my results
6.5mm Polymer Tip: 45 meter shot broadside, single lung, very low bleed, approx. 490 meter track, sucks on basically everything
.50 Sabot Polymer Tip: 53 meter shot broadside, single lung, very low bleed, 463 meter track, actually works pretty well on literally everything except moose (even works on grizzlies and saltwater crocs)

6.5mm sucks and Inline vs Moose needs to be looked at

It definitely had to have been broken sometime recently, bc it sucks for specifically moose rn

"file is too powerful" :(
but yeah, same thing, single lung, 400+ meter track, very low bleed

and again, it works fine on basically everything else, even grizzlies and crocs
i think Huxley even tested it on banteng and got better results than I've been getting with moose

Zero range wise is fine as is for what they are. Hudzik & Gandhare make sense they reach further because they have longer barrels.
