European and Plains Bison: Model Updates

I've been hunting both species of bison lately, and I noticed that something about their models just felt off. After staring at them in various poses in the harvest screens, I noticed two things:

• Both species' bulls have weird mouths that make them look less like their real life counterparts
• bull European Bison hardly even resemble their irl counterparts

These two are far from being the most-needing of a touchup, but I couldn't help but be bugged by it after I noticed it. What I also noticed is that the cows of both species weren't nearly as bad in these regards, with the European Bison cows kinda looking more accurate than the bulls

What I'm suggesting:

• adjust the male Plains Bison's head and mouth to better match their irl counterpart, including updating the "afro" and the beard
• remodel the European Bison completely

In the case of the Plains Bison, it's even more noticable on the fur types that don't have the darker head

Given how good the Wild Yak and the updated Water Buffalo look, I feel like a hypothetical TLC for both of these species would be really good

I know from very specific angles and lighting on the Plains Bison (specifically with the Dark fur type it kinda hides the mouth, but that's just one specific case lol

that being said they're still quite broad

Unfortunately I don't think they will be redone anytime soon. I'm hoping by the time they're more or less closed up with adding new reserves that they go back and polish up/remaster old maps and/or animals

So many animals need some tlc it's insane. Stinks that it never happens unless they get put on new reserves

Yeah, I'm happy for any TLCs, but I do wish it wasn't always just for GOs and new reserves

The wood bison makes these two look like knock offs I'd love a remodel for them

yes, I totally agree. The Wood Bison are clearly far better quality than the old bison.

honestly I wouldn't mind getting another map with the European Bison, but yeah in general I agree with you on that

I enjoy them but I can't think of any map I'd especially enjoy where they could be present other then may be a Caucasus map which would be a bit of a stretch iirc

There's like 60 in Azerbaijan I think

I just think it would be fun to hunt them on a map that isn't Hirschfelden honestly. That map gets boring for me after a while.

Ik so many people that exclusively hunt Hirschfelde it's fascinating German country kids obsessing over realistic hunts of Hirschfelde is a genre of people you dont see as much around here, it's like its own subbubble

yeah I guess the map just needs some work to help it stand out a bit more. A few new species on the map would certainly help imo

Yeah it kinda feels dead, I still stand by that Hirschfelden is inspired by this region and that the big lake is inspired by lake constance.

Personally I’d prefer not to because it means that Hirsch would have no unique species.

yeah I get that, and I agree, it is important for each map to have at least one unique species if possible. Maybe if Hirsch gets a few more unique species, then maybe we can get European Bison on another map. They added the Euro Rabbits back when they added the Remi Warren outfit to the game, so I think something like that could potentially happen again at some point.

I mean I think it would be fine to leave the European Bison as a Hirsch-exclusive species, but if getting a new map with them would increase the likelihood of them getting a remodel, then I'd be all for it as long as it's a good map.
