The map is one of the smallest so I can imagine backfilling could be hard for the developers

However, the mountains would definitely could definitely benefit from some Tahr, and the lower parts could get some pheasants or Geese 💜

most of te awaroa’s animals can be found on other maps so it wouldnt matter anyways. the whole special part about nz is that it has trophy animals from all over the world in one place

It could get some people to hunt them more. I hunt Whitetail on all the maps that have them. That goes for all my favorite species.

It's nice to have the option to hunt your favorite species in different areas and environments. It kinda is genius

Yes they can be found on other maps, however Whitetail are on 5 out of 15 maps, I would rather have different animals on other maps, New Zealand has RM Elk, Sambar deer, Rusa deer, Tahr, and some unique bird species, I would rather have all of those than Whitetail. I get wanting to hunt a favorite animal, but I think it should represent New Zealand with more exotic animals that a popular deer species.

i talked about RME and tahr as well, te awaroa is already pretty unique, it would just be nicer to have north american animals there as they are in real life, almost all of the animals are european

they're illegal to hunt and so are tigers and we still got them, lesser kudu dont live anywhere near vurhonga and many other examples of this are all over the game. i think its fine to add whitetail

We got too many maps with White-tailed Deer in the game right now

Plus, there are so many better species to add to Te Awaroa like the aformentioned Rocky Mountain Elk & Tahr but also Sambar Deer and Arapawa Sheep to name some potential big game additions

the only backfills im focusing on are animals already in the game, because I doubt they will make a new species just to backfill it to an already existing map

Thankfully the majority of people seem to be against this. And want to keep whitetail out of Te Awaroa.
