So I discovered the hard way yesterday that .270 is deemed too OP for Roe deer. Sure it's quite a spicy round but where I live, .223 is not allowed with .243 being the minimum. Since we have red deer where we are .270 is deemed a good all rounder of a weapon that can be used on all our game species. From what I hear, so long as you miss bone, .270 is fine.
#.270 Permitted For Roebuck

I’ve shot 270. With roe and it’s been fine
Typo I very roe and .270
So you want .270 3-8?
I guess so yeah that'd make sense. I'll express that it should still be suited for Elk as I've heard it's quite popular for them in real life too. Elk are either 7 or 8 right? I can't remember.
When you put it that way I think there was a post asking for that somewhere.
Then why downvote this post?
I think others should be too. 6.5, .270, maybe 303 and 308
Pressed the wrong thing, it’s late and I’m tired😭🫠
Glad that's cleared up. Cos it had me going for a second there.
I'd live to see 6.5, .270, and .30-30 shifted to 3-7/8 they're all extremely versatile rounds with good reputation for all kinds of game
6.5 and .270 should both get a buff in expansion and be class 3-8 in my opinion
I feel like they both need more penetration too, I might need to dust off the .270 and run around with it for a little longer though.
the .270 has 35 penetration while the 6.5 has 40, I think the .270 could use a bump to 40 while the 6.5 should be 50 because it's well known for having insanely good penetration but lacking in stopping power
I think making it actually capable of penetrating would be good enough with its current stats.
I'd like the 6.5's expansion to be increased to 6 and the .270's to 8
.270 could do 10, I've seen Barnes TSX pulled from a pronghorn shot at 140y and the front quarter was mushroomed nicely
