This idea may contain some flaws but I hope that whoever is going to read this will understand the premise.

The game is pretty arcady for a hunting game, and so I was hoping that an immersive mode could be implemented as a separate "mode" (so you can choose between the game as it is now or the immersive mode)

The features I could see being implemented:

  • Animals no longer have set zones. They will drink and rest of course, but not always at the same time and the same place. This would make hunting more dynamic.
  • Animal tracks would be harder to find. This could be done by making the tracks less visible or there wouldn't be as many of them.
  • Weapon sway would be increased. I personally feel that the sway is way too easy to control in the current version of the game. This would also go in hand with introducing bipods to the game.
  • Introduce a Huntermate similar to that of TH Classic, with actual features.
  • The HUD would only contain crucial information, such as weapon zeroing and ammo.
  • Camos should make a difference. If you're on Hirschfelden with an arctic camo, animals should notice you way more easily and vice versa.
  • Animals will drop instantly if multiple vital organs are hit.

These are just some ideas that I could think of, but of course there could me many more. If you don't like the idea, please don't hate.

I have also considered and proposed multiple suggestions to make it more immersive to players with additional features to allow players to have more options and freedom to how they play the game. But sadly it will likely not see the light of day due to the reply TH:COTW is designed on an outdated program n yet TheAngler has alot more options and working multiplayer 😓 However everyone did agree these features would be awsome in a newer title. But I do like your ideas as they entwine with my own.

Arcadie seems to be what most players want .... If they want more realism / immersion then they will play that other game .....

I blame EA for that with later Cabelas titles making shooting galleries. Plus this game has a leveling mechanic and new gen players will treat it as such like most shooters because of that mechanic. COD, Battlefield, any RPG all have grind level systems and they'll treat the hunter the same way kill, get money, exp. = better loot/gear and they aren't patient they want it today so they find what pays the most and grind at spawns if they can over playing the story and its content. Its sad

Like Galv said, that isn't a bad idea either having it as a separate game option like a hardcore mode. I also suggested a separate game option as well so it wouldn't hurt to have another suggestion on the table 👍

The devs also have problems fixing issues on just one game mode .... I don't think could handle another ....

It doesn't hurt to suggest new ideas even if its not possible on this title however its an idea for a future one. As I see it & I loath to say it, but if Ultimate Hunting is going to be next level in the current gen of titles as I'm seeing thus far TH:CotW's life span is limited unless they crack down on ("Bug Fixes, Multiplayer, and Add New Features &/or Mechanics)" other than releasing only Maps, Weapon Packs, & Paint Cosmetics to stay online 😢

We will have to see with Ultimate Hunting ... So far from what I have see I'm not impressed..... And they still have to figure out how to monetize their game..... when WOTH came out it was also supposed to be the COTW killer .... But it has it's issues as well ....

They all will its a common thing anymore bc companies push titles out without polish and solid definition 80% of time. But you are right its too soon to assume until we have more to go on but I still stand by my comment they need to take action to Fix the bugs/multiplayer and add new features if they plan to keep players for a 2027 10yr anniversary in this current day & age. As I said before I love this game but it has so much more potential to be more immersive and still be fun to the current players. I'm a sim player so I'm fine with realism but most ppl just want to shoot everything or as you put it action and immediate interaction over patience.

It sounds to me that WOTH is what this thread is calling for.... A more immersive Hunting mode .... In other words a Hunting Sim .... Well the truth is that's what true Hunting is ... Hunting especially big game hunting is a lot of waiting around or endless stalking and tracking looking for something to show up. I dont think players of this game want that and that's why WOTH hasnt taken off .... Its a good solid sim but most gamer's don't want a sim .

Look, the things I suggested are no quantum physics. Also, WoTH has a small team, small player count and too little content.

It would effectively be a harder difficulty sort of mode, wouldn't take anything from the game itself, merely add to it

no, we want COTW with different numbers - animal spook chance, recoil, penetration, animal sight, no need zones, death time for animals, ect... we dont want a game that looks like its from 2010 and has 30% less than COTW has

(WOTH is missing basic color grading, traditional and classical weapons and most importantly hiddeness. currently it makes no difference if you are on top of a rock with sun shinning right at you or in a deep, dark valley covered in bushes and branches, its all the same to WOTH AI.)

I love the game as is but the cosmetics can be used on clothing with utility to animal sight and detection since it makes no sense to wear snow camo in 98% of the maps with no affect to the animals and renders them pointless. 3rd person or shoulder view with distance UI slider, to actually see your character with a clothing selector like TheAngler does to make further use of the cosmetics. Weapon part add-ons or a gunsmith feature for barrels stocks etc to effect weight, recoil, & weapon sway. And an additional mode(s) for different styles of play. And maintained official EW reserve lobbies in multiplayer just like TheAngler with the option to also host player lobbies with different or standard modes to play on. All suggestions to improve gameplay, utility, and player freedom to immerse more then the less desirable mechanics we have now without changing the core game directly. Its 2024 theres no reason why they cant add these in and if its PnR (Point of no Return) then they need to throw in the towel with their final content. And start a new game with a better program and utilize the feedback for a better experience then the previous title. CotW had 7yrs of mostly good running but if it cant keep up then its probably that time to move fwd to a new addition.

As I said if nothing else its ideas to help the EW team to make or add content, which we as a community practically run the content creation department with the 100's if not 1000's of ideas for the Designer Department. Saves them alot of time an effort to think about it on their own if you really think about it.
