the perfect new Backfill

In Chinese mythology, there was once a tyrant king who ruled his land with a cruel hand. And In this land was an ox, a horse, a donkey, and a deer who were meditating in a cave, until one day the king executed a minister. This action awoke the 4 animals and when they discovered what happened they decided to take recourse against the king. So they decided to merge into one animal that had attributes from all the animals. An so this new creature was given a task by the Primeval Lord of the Heavens(a sick name) to go to his disciple who was battling the king. And so During the battle , the disciple rode the back of this creature into victory against the king. Unfortunately since this legend, it was believed that by consuming the meat of this animal it would be the Key to unlocking immortality, which caused uncontrolled poaching until they became extinct in Asia. However due to some missionaries, a few of these animals made their way to Europe and now this animal is alive and well. The animal I’m talking about is…The Pere Davi Deer

IRL Argentina has a huntable population of Pere David Deer. And now that Sundapaton has been released and has blackbuck and water buffalo , Parque Fernando doesn’t have any map exclusive big game now. The Pere David Deer is the perfect backfill! It lives in Argentina, it’s a huntable species, Parque currently is missing an exclusive, it would be a unique animal to have with its backwards antlers, It all adds up to the Perfect Backfill!

With Parque's only exclusive species being the Cinnamon Teal, I agree that the Pere David's Deer would be a good choice, especially in the swampy areas of the reserve. Other potential big game species could include Feral Sheep (Patagonian Rams) and Guanaco

It would be so much fun to hunt Pere David deer(I’m now just gonna call the water deer) in those swamps

Funny enough there is an animal also from China called the Water Deer, but in England where an introduced population can be hunted they are also known as Vampire Deer on account of the long tusk the males have

This map needs help backfilling Axis Deer into Emerald Coast and Blackbuck and Water Buffalo into Sunderpatan makes only the cinnamon teal the exclusive species on the map. Backfilling makes other reserves less unique

Exactly. with the same animals on different maps, it makes older map’s a bit obsolete

Bunch of species on this map ended up being backfilled into other maps losing its exclusive and popularity. First the mule deer than axis deer now water buffalo and blackbuck. Cinnamon teal shouldn’t be the only exclusive species on this map. Needs update not backfill

If you look at what YouTubers rank this map they all talk about how this map has ruined its exclusive species due to introduced species or backfills

Fernando was already unpopular as a map, people would just go for the animals, now he is in the hospital ward(as there are more popular maps with the same animals), each map must contain at least 3 unique or more (I'm not counting rabbits(looking at you bunny that everyone hates 👀 ) for obvious reasons)...
I doubt many people will want to go to the map just to hunt Cinnamon..

Fun fact: you can hunt these guys in South Korea. According to the laws of hunting there, they are considered a pest species, alongside the Raccoon Dog and Wild Boar (at least mammal wise).

The ones in Korea are a different subspecies from the ones in the UK, but I did know that water deer can be hunted in South Korea

So apparently (I only looked at Wikipedia so don’t quote me on this) the Water Deer in China and Korea are the exact same species, but the ones in the UK have diverged enough to be considered a different species or subspecies? Maybe I read it wrong but that’s what I got from it. Still, I feel if they were ever added in game they would just be called “Water Deer”.

I also looked at Wikipedia and one of the reasons Chinese Water Deer in the UK are different genetically from the Chinese Water Deer still living in China is because the source population is extinct which isn't to much of a surprise as the Chinese population of Water Deer is restricted to a small part of Eastern China now
