#Suggestion for actual Hunt Clubs System

Hello COTW Community!

I wanted to finally post this since I have not seen it suggested here. The idea is a clan type system for players to make and create Hunt Clubs. The idea is very much like GTA:O Crews, COD Clans or something new with the idea like Club only matchmaking pools. Give the players the ability to start and lead a Hunt Club of selected friends/players. Create some type of profile app or UI in game to access and see the teams stats and performance. Perhaps make a Hunt Club specific lodge to see who can claim the largest trophy per animal (in club record animals). It would be really neat to see players have Club tags with there names or even Club rewarded outfitting. Allow Club owners to set ranks and permissions.

My pitch here is that not only would it create hype and team pride between club members but it could also be a tool to create some team based tournaments along with challenges on a seasonal basis. The ability to earn rewards and maybe even give Clubs there own levels to level up so that they can earn rewards and perks that are exclusive to the system. For example a perk that could reduce noise when hunting near other players in the same club or rewards as simple as free ammo. The list for possible rewards could be very long honestly.

Absolutely love this idea I have never thought of this before but it's an amazing idea and definitely would want to see this in game🔥🔥🔥✅✅✅COTW COTW COTW

Thanks @sick kernel, The idea is to create a drive to play the game a bit more. I sometimes find myself wanting to play COTW with friends but they get a bit bored at times. I play a bit more cozy and casual but my friends like more to do. It would be a great way to bring in team based gameplay.

# sick kernel Competitions would be amazing too you have a clan or team of like 4 hunter's and...

I am thinking a bigger than 4 members...I feel like content creators would want to create clubs so we need a fair number. I am thinking something like 20 members per club...maybe have the ability to purchase premium member slots could be an idea too.
But yeah, the idea would be to give club owners/leaders the ability to run the events. Maybe even have wagers or buy ins with in game currency.
Could also incorporate some of the clans stuff into the hunter mate.

# sick kernel It was just an example although 20 seems like quite alot tbh

A clan type thing is usually more than just a few people. I would at least do double the amount of a full server...which would be 16. If you held a good size event you would want at least 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, 6v6 and 8v8.
The system would make no sense to do it on a smaller scale.
Just because you have a smaller group you play with does not mean you have to play with them all. You should still be able to play privately with your select members.

Also, anything above 4v4 is more than a server can hold so that means the events should track similar to the current hunt club...daily and weekly type challenges. Doing it this way can allow players to do these events across multiple servers over the set time.

You could be right though. I myself play at max with roughly 2 - 5 friends tops. Content creators would fill up a club quick and have advantages over smaller clubs that are not maxed out. So maybe 8 members with a premium slot pack that adds 2 member slots. Having a couple over max server limit is good for filling in members that might not be able to make it to events. Having back up members is good.

While that type of matchmaking could be done...I feel like it would be extra work that is not needed for development. This type of system already would take a good year or more to do. Keeping it simple is better and building a system based on your own limits is not fair either. You need to reach a bit higher in terms of spectacle. We have a really good community with this game and its one of the least toxic I have seen. That being said I am sure finding members would be pretty easy. With the system I am suggesting it would put the club owner in charge of in club events. Which also means the owner would control which members take part.
See the thing is...even if you have the system you suggest...if there is a public season pass or something along them lines it will still set you at a lower rank than those with more members by default.

To bump this, I wanted to share a few more ideas related to this:

  • Club only maps with target ranges that will track points and also allow challenges/event. Perhaps even add the ability to shoot and fling some clays.
  • On these club only maps could be other things like carnival/festival type shooting galleries. Would be great for seasonal events and holidays.
  • As in the original post, club only lodges could be placed on these club only maps. These lodges could not only show off members top kills but also have some type of trophy wall that shows off club achievements. If not a wall of cups, ribbons and medals than maybe a wall mounted TV that we can view them. Also a leaderboard could be cool...something that could show ranks for all clubs.
#

The above ideas would essentially make these types of club only maps hubs for clubs to gather and socialize. On that thought...I should add to that idea list: - Allow us to sit in chairs or benches, use or make camp fires and add some emotes.

Something that would be cool would be if you could have someone's lodge but also have a claybird and shooting range in the same location

I have been thinking about this more and thought about some things that could make it better:

  • I think that the current Hunt Club system still fits for solo players and could just be renamed. Not everyone will adopt a clan system so keeping a solo player system is probably good.
  • The clan system could be targeted as not competitive/PVP but instead be targeted as end game co-operative/PVE. This way it will be fair.
  • I do feel that there should be a competitive Clan system. I see the argument of smaller clans not able to reach goals for rewards but that is kinda the point. I know there will be players that rather play solo so maybe they could add a reward system similar to the clans and just have a Lone Wolf version of rewards (basically the same rewards but they look different somehow). I feel like there could be a standard and premium season setup for this too.
  • A complete different idea would be to make a clan system to create your own matchmaking pool. This would allow the ability to still have a club UI to build a team pride system and eliminate true public sessions to get away from cheaters and toxic players. Than for clan challenges you could just copy and paste the current system for clans and just make it community driven goals. This option could be much more simple to implement but I am not sure on the networking side of things if it could be an issue.

this seems like it'd take away manpower for better features.

Honestly, it will not. Something like this can be done on the side in the background. I am sure they have more than 1 programmer. The rest is UI design and network stuff.
UI does not take long...actually...the UI could be done overnight if there is no redesign to the rest of the UI in game.
Programming should be fairly straight forward but the harder part is more than likely the networking stuff. Not too sure about the network stuff honestly...they might even hire a 3rd party for that.
I respect your opinion but I don't see many actual "features" in many of these posts. It is mostly more add on content. That content is nothing really new in terms of features unless they bring new mechanics into the game.
There are a few features that are good and deserve to be in the game...like the camera button fix and additional options needed to customize playstyles. This clan type of system would bring something different to the way people play and it could help build more interest from people who play multiplayer more than singleplayer.
