#A Knight to match the Empress

We have the 7mm Empress in game but it kinda bugs me there's no comparable weapon for the really big stuff. So here's my pitch. . . . .

The Knight .375 Express

Inspired by the Empress, this rifle embodies the principle of One shot is all it takes. Meant for large and dangerous game such as brown bear, lion, bison, and buffalo this rifle is designed with reliability in mind. With a long and storied history, including being a favorite of such famous hunters as Frederick Selous. The ammunition features a prominent flange to aid in extraction of spent cases and fast reloading while the falling block action is designed to function regardless of the environment. The Soft Point ammunition is ideal for thin skinned dangerous game such as lion and brown bear, while the Solid Round Nose bullets are ideal for piercing thick hides and bone or in the case of Cape Buffalo the overlapping ribs that make it a walking tank.

Lighter than the .470 King DB (not by much) with one less shot but a fast reload to make up for it.
Second only to the .470 in penetration, but the ammunition is only a bit cheaper
Only covers the classes 7-9 (8-9 depending on reclassing of brown/grizzly bears)
Restricted to a single scope, with low magnification such as 1-4 (High recoil weapons like a .375 require strong scopes and are usually meant for shots inside a hundred or so meters/ scope could be shared with the .470 Now i think about it)
Would prefer to see this come with a price of 80,000 credits placing it between the .300 Canning and the .470 King DB

Would fit well on a map like #1195097534239088720 OR #1199566668473581578

As a small extra note, this rifle features a large brass bead front sight and rear aperture, designed for precision shots in the absence of a scope

Sight picture would match the .22 H

Thanks, I just hope enough people like it that its implemented, we have nothing for the really big stuff except the .470 and man it's slow

I Definitely Would Love To See This In Game. We Need More Massive Calibers.

Heyo, just a bit more info about this rifle and why I chose it.

This one (the photos) was not personally owned by Frederick Selous but this is the exact model of rifle he used toward the end of his career in hunting. He actually commissioned 3 of these from the company Westley Richards, one each in .256, .303, and .375. He was a big proponent of this action because of it's reliability and used them for all his hunting between gazelle and elephant. I recently got one of his books in which he descried the .375 he got from W R as "Indispensable in the matter of gathering the ivory i make my meager living on" Though he also notes that he used this rifle to take hundreds of cape buffalo in order to feed himself and his party between elephants, from time to time he also shot various game for local villages as thanks for pointing him toward elephants. He also (annoyingly little) about shooting a hippo that was attacking fishermen from a small village and chasing them away from the small crop fields they relied on.

I think a .375 nitro with a falling block action would be very cool to have. I am also super intrigued that Abercrombie and Fitch used to sell firearms.

Found a very convenient comparison between Solid bullets and Soft points, to be clear, this particular solid is actually brass. Brass bullets are not meant for long shots but they have incredible penetration due to the slightly harder metal being much slower to expand

Still think this would be a nice addition. Like to see it paired with a bolt action .416 and single shot (Ruger No. 1 type) 9.3x74R to make use of the ammo in game.

Hey, dredging this up to hopefully get more eyes on 7-9 class weapons

Bump. Way of the Hunter just got a bolt action. 375 so we need one to keep up and besides we need a dedicated 7-9 to make the most of tigers and the water buffalo rework
