Hey there,
in my opinion we lack some animals, I do feel like we could make a great use of small rivers by adding beavers! The addition of beavers could add new side missions that would happen from time to time ex: "Take apart the dam built by a beaver" and etc. The beavers could also be a great addition to hunting!

New side mission "Pesky Beavers" .... Beavers have built a damn at x location flooding the area. Take this dynamite and destroy the damn then kill 3 beavers from the local area to prevent them from rebuilding the damn ...

The various ponds on SRP are essentially what beavers in Colorado can do, so they would not be out of place there.

Imagine a map like NEM or MA where you get a random message that generates a mission about a beaver damn that is causing problems and needs to be broken up.... maybe causing all the drink zones downstream from the damn to be deactivated until the damn is destroyed ... This would be an amazing dynamic change that would be very immersive .... 🦫

Thing is, any beaver mission like that would probably also include setting traps. It would probably be a limited trapping mission, not anything that could be used beyond that mission, but I'd love to see some snares and 330 Conibears. But yes, make beavers class 2 and add them to the game.

Don't just add beavers but make it fun and different ....

Have the beavers build dams on the streams around the map ... NEM would be a great map for this ..... Beaver back fill Please !!!

Would like to see an actual beaver dam but it can be shown as a rest or feed zone on the water .... When a Dam is present all the drink zones for other animals down stream are grayed out and inactive until the zone is wiped ....

The hunter must kill all the beavers attached to the beavers (rest/feed zone ) ... This removes the dam and reactives the other drink zones ....

Of course beavers can re-spawn and move their dam to another location ....

#

....
I suppose the beaver dam (feed/rest) Zone could be built on small lakes or ponds .... Even lakes have small feeder streams not shown of the map that can dry up the lake .

When a dam is present all the drink zones for other animals on the lake are inactive until the beaver zone is wiped ....

umbral spruce
#

Beaver warning noise is a tail slap on the water .... use the already existing water fleeing mechanic used by Gators to allow the beavers to escape .....

#

.....
Back filling beavers on NEM and MA would once again make those maps attractive hunting maps again for many palyers

umbral spruce

Beavers are a blight on a proper hunting society .... They need to be exterminated like the vermin they are ..... They mock us with their very existence .....

I want beavers in Parque Fernando because in the Patagonian region they are considered an invasive species that affects the ecosystem. There are areas in Parque Fernando that resemble those photos; it would be an excellent idea to add beavers there. I’m surprised they haven’t been included yet. Credit: Wikipedia

In Europe, we have two species of beaver: a European one and an invasive one, the American beaver. The same applies to the American and European mink in Europe.

Distribution of the American beaver (Castor canadensis) in green in its native habitat and light green in its non-native habitat, and the European beaver (C. fiber) in red.

#

Yes, the coypu is an invasive species in many countries. It’s curious that the Spanish word “nutria” refers to “otter,” while in English it refers to “coypu.” I never use “nutria,” only “coypu” or “otter” to avoid the confusion caused by the misassigned name.

While there are several reserves that would make a great fit for beavers I would like to see them used on some select reserves like MA or NEM ....

This would give players incentives to hunt on those reserves that are normally overlooked... It would also help EW to incentivize the purchase of those reserves as well ...

Example , If you want to hunt beavers then you need to purchase these specific reserves .....
I think they can do something similar with Badgers and some other much requested species ....

Adding a smaller population of beavers to Layton or Badgers to Hirsch would also prevent these special species from being gated content .... But if you want to hunt a reserve with a larger population then you need to buy DLC .... 03/24/2025 .... 274

After the elk populations were at dangerous levels many habitats were destroyed & contaminated. Once wolves were introduced elk populations were greatly reduced and allowed several species populations to recoup & further returning the ecologies recovery. Beavers were the ones that brought back the waterways restoring aquatic life habitats for fish, otters, etc.
