would it be possible to choose whether you want your dogs to be trackers or retrievers at purchase?
i think it would be great if you could choose how to train your dog when you first buy them so that you could tailor the dog to your specific needs/wants, each dog would have class and breed specific traits such as webbed feet and arrow collection for labs but also have class specific traits like tracking or retrieving skills so you could completely mix and match your pooch.

If I'm reading you correctly, wouldn't this remove the point of having two different types of dog DLCs?
no each dog would have a breed specific talent set and you could choose how to train the dog to be a retriever or a tracker. if you look at the traits you will see that they are roughly broken up into two already (class and breed) i would just like to see the class skills interchangeable
I have 6 dogs (3 bloods, 3 labs) trained for different purposes:
Blood 1: Tracker specialist for far & difficult tracks
Blood 2: Tracker & protector (for wolf areas)
Blood 3: Main tracker & howler (just coz why not?)
Lab 1: Waterfowl & main retriever
Lab 2: Gamebird, hare & arrow retriever
Lab 3: Main arrow retriever for game & bow hunting
I don't see how your suggestion will improve on these?
i really want to have a bow hunting tracker dog so mixing the traits from the bloodhound and breed from the lab would make a dog that could track and still retrieve arrows whilst crossing water and if further breeds are introduced later such as a pointer (or tracker) it would broaden the scope even further
Hmm. I think a better solution is to allow us to take two dogs out. One of each species. That would be really cool.
would be nice but it would much higher strain on the console/pc/servers and you would have to add a way to split the command wheel between two dogs, a mix and match approach would aow you to taylor a single dog foe ypur gaming style
