China/Asia Map

I think an Asian map would be cool there's an elephant species, crocs/gator, monkeys, tigers, Buffalo, bears, leopards, yak, Ibex, and crane. I Think any new map would be good like Africa 2.0 Artic but Asia would be a good one. Itt would have bamboo areas waterfalls and other great stuff.

Would love a China/Asia map. Do a search on previous suggestions and add your support/like to them as the ones with more numbers will get more attention from the devs.

China basically banned hunting in 2006

But there are great reserve concepts posted for Pakistan, Mongolia, Central Asia and even places like the Caucasus Mountains, Iran, Japan & Malaysia

As others have mentioned,China Banned hunting,but I’d like to touch on that last part,I do believe the devs said waterfalls are impossible due to the aging game engine.

Not to mention the species list is absolutely everywhere,Asia is a massive country,not many species have overlapping ranges anymore (as of 2023)

I'm not sure I understand why we can't have a China map because hunting is banned there in real life. This is a video game. The whole point is so we can escape and do things that we wouldn't be able to do in real life. Just my thoughts.

It is a policy of the developer studio, they do not add content that is prohibited in real life

Wouldn’t it be pretty stupid to be able to hunt in places with no caliber requirements/suggestions,no significant species lists,etc??? There’s nothing for EW to work with.

I'm pretty sure we can come up with that stuff based on professional hunting research and data. But yeah if that's the dev's policy, then so be it I have no problem with that.

That’s the thing,there isn’t any professional hunting data,I don’t want to get political but…china does not want people in their country to have guns.

I mean I just found plenty of it through some routine searches. There was hunting before it was suspended in 2006.

Not too much. We're already using tried and true old weaponry in the game that's been around for decades. But in any event, I'm definitely cool with the dev's policy. So I'll let that be that.

I think the devs like to have more down to earth, realistic settings for their hunting reserves. CotW might be “arcade-like” in a sense but compared to 99% of hunting games (i.e. Hunting Clash and the like) theHunter is magnitudes closer to being true to life. Adding locations that cannot be hunted IRL or species which are protected takes away from those authentic settings.

Though I don’t always agree with this 100%. I think if an animal can be hunted IRL it should be able to be included in-game. Elephants for instance.
