As much as I’d love to see Elephants in game, I doubt it will happen, alongside with rhinos. It’s just too sensitive a subject for the developers.

No endangered animals are added to the game, that's the studio policy, this is the position since before it was released.
The hunting modality that you are naming is that of Tropy Hunting, paying a lot of money to hunt an endangered animal included in CITES lists, it is also a modality with which the studio does not agree, although Tanzania has a tusk export quota of 50 animals obviously not met for those who pay to be able to hunt them or poaching guides, it is a species threatened by hunting, if the game tries to show the good part of hunting Why include a species that hunting has brought to the brink of extinction?
You are also asking for money from a wildlife foundation, do you have any idea how much paperwork it takes to do that?
Why would Avalanche Studios Group go to all the trouble and invest in legal resources just so that a tiny number of players can hunt Elephants in a Casual mode game?

From what I found Portugal counted them as endangered and Spain banned the hunting of them through international laws.

It is in a special protection regime, but not on an IUCN or CITES red list, it is the affiliated states that must provide protection through national laws, it is currently protected by Spanish law since 2021, however in some areas it continues to occur special hunting permits.
Cuatro Colinas map was released in 2019 before the protection regime, I suppose that removing it from there would be quite difficult considering that the main mission of the map would have to be removed

@safe crystal by the way I'm done with the conversation, that's why I deleted the suggestion in the first place. But I wasn't saying "Ask a wildlife foundation for money" as you stated. I was saying donating the proceeds from to new map to the wildlife foundation to help protect real elephants. So having them in a virtual setting would help in the conservation and protection of the elephants remaining in the wild. But given the immediate backlash I'm not going to argue or try to plead some case. It was an idea, a thought. But one apparently bad enough for me to get PMed and told that I was as bad as a poacher for suggestioning such a thing. If that's how the community treats people for making a suggestion or expressing an idea then it's not a community I want to be apart of.
