#Night time overhaul + Digital Decoy callers

Good evening,

I find myself yearning for 2 additions, in regard to the day and night cycles in game.

Firstly the lack of ambient noise on maps like Verhonga makes the plains feel a bit lifeless, adding cricket noises at night along with more active predator call-outs would really help to enforce that stark change in the behaviour of nocturnal animals once night has fallen.

Secondly,
I would also like to propose lamping and Digital decoys (Play a variety of calls through programming) being able to sit up on stand with a Torch scanning the forests for eye reflections, while calling in predators would be incredibly immersive. Especially when combined with better predator/nighttime ambiance.

I can only imagine how unnerved one might feel seeing dozens of eyes staring back at us, from the pitch black.

Keen to see what you guys think!

And should the developers will it, we can get some light house drip for our charector models too

Genuinely good ideas here, would be cool to have a bigger focus on ambiance overhauls, I love the idea of it become some what horror like at night hearing predators around you, and overthinking every small rustle you hear.

I wouldn’t like it becoming a ‘horror ride’ at night.
By the way, is it something hunters do, at night? Light up the forest to spot the eyeshine?

It depends on where you hunt, here in North Argentina we hunt at night with high brightness flashlights since most game animals have nocturnal habits, so that their eyes shine when focused by light up to 100 meters away, only in this way can they be located among the trees and shrubs of the dry forest..
However there are many NA and EU species whose hunting is prohibited after sunset, it is also prohibited for hunters to roam at night in hunting areas.

Thank you, I thought it might be like that.

Alligator eyes already glow at night without need for lamping...which I'm also fairly certain is illegal, particularly when it comes to deer hunting, because it makes the animals freeze.

# arctic scarab What Range-Target describes he would like would be a horror ride at night for me...

I see, well if your uncomfortable ok, but I somewhat agree with range target that nocturnal predatory animals should be more aggressive at night. I think horror is the wrong word. Greater risk of being charged by predators at night is logical.

While you may be apprehensive about hunting on reserves with predators, I rather suspect that others would be far more eager.

I don’t really know what to say if you find virtual wolves genuinely scary…

The predators are aggressive at night, the Wolves, Pumas and Lions have a schedule in which they are in a "hunting" state, if they detect you in that state they attack you ignoring the animals they were chasing, it is really terrifying xD

at night also the alligators in "feeding" mode attack you if you touch the water, and believe me that is terrifying, you hear their roars and the splashes coming towards you

Would this cause you to be more cautious and aware while hunting at night ?.... I hope so just as I would be more cautious and aware of night hunting IRL. Currently night hunting in game is not nearly as disorienting and unnerving as it should be .

#

I think the goal is to make us less comfortable at night than we are in daylight just as it is in RL

^ you’ve summed it up perfectly

We need crickets and glowing eyes

If we could use the same light intensity that the Mississippi floodlights use, that would already be a huge improvement.

I would even go so far as to say they should increase the uncomfortable feeling of hunting at night along with a larger payout for harvests made during nighttime hours .... Something I would only do in Africa from a stand ....
