The gourd (african wine kettle) originated in Southern Africa so unless the map overlaps with Vurhonga, it is going to be western or northern Africa. If it is Mexico, then how did they use it? If it is Asia, how did they use it? The gourds were used as a fruit, storage of liquid and other things, and musical instruments. Which use ties in with Layton?

It was actually the same case with the boxing gloves everybody thought Australia but when u think out of the box you get Rocky mountains. Here’s the same case everybody thinks it’s either africa or mexico but in reality it’s Australia. That’s my final thought on it. and the picture from parque is another water buffalo hint

To go down my rabbit hole, I kind of always had a feeling it would be somewhere very different. Aus is so much different than anywhere else. I first googled the gourd and game up as Calabash gourd. In Wikipedia it says another name is Tasmania bean...check mark. Then I googled something like "Layton, hunting, Australia" and it came up with Robert Layton who studied hunter gatherers and helped set up the Uluru National park(Ayres rock is a famous Aus landmark)...Check number 2. The dive deeper thing I just kinda guessed at since the others fit so well. I was originally looking for a cliff diving spot, since if you look at the layton lakes bulletin boards, almost all the posters are blurry except for the no cliff diving/stay away from cliffs one. Checked all cliffs I could find looking for a painting to add to the Layton theory, but no luck...so i just went with down under. I do think that the comment below the video of barrier reef makes more sense though
