I feel like this is a fairly good representation even if they do take some liberties - careful ones mind you - in order to provide a fun gameplay experience as well. This can be seen in other maps with some of the stuff we have to hunt that you wouldn't really consider as huntable or be allowed to hunt the way we do in the game. Their last Q&A they talked a bit about the balancing approach they take between authentic and ethical hunting per region and ensuring whats within each region is varied and interesting for the players to enjoy

Roe has definitely been at the forefront of most of the marketing for months, and has been highlighted in a couple different DLCs leading up to this map. It has the best chance at being a contender, especially getting reworked, but we know reworked animals have a decent chance at making g1 status too, so… boar could be a possibility. Not as strong as roe given what we’ve been spoonfed, but still an option.
